Just wondering if anyone can clarify how I’m supposed to setup rex atmos core?
The instructions on the download page said to extract the installer and then run it as admin… but the download isn’t a zip file, it’s a .msi file, which is already an installer, and not one that gives the option to run as admin (there’s no such option on the right click menu, the only option is “install”).
Anyway,I ran the installer “as is”, and it seemed to install, but I was pretty confused about how to use it. I went to each section, weather, atmos, enviro, and if I click create, there’s a bunch of sliders to play with, but I couldn’t find any way to “start” the preset or save/ load anything.
I saw it recommended some profiles called airborne realistic, so i thought I’d try those, but again couldn’t figure out how to load them.
So i added them as favourites instead and then found the “autoload” option which looks like a play button.
I then excited the flight, as the one I was doing was night time and it was probably hard to see or enjoy the difference, so i loaded a new day time flight at KLAX, and when it loaded in i initially thought "so, is it working? How do i know? "… then I tried to stop it by removing those 3 presets from favourites, and sure enough you could tell straight away that it stopped, because everything became a lot more vivid and “game like”. So I thought, ok, great, it obviously DOES make quite a difference, I’ll just put those 3 presets back on… except this time, nothing changed. They didn’t load and everything looked the same, still “gamey”… then after about 30 second, the whole sim ctd, with the sim still showing as running in steam.
I’ve uninstalled it for now, but I guess I’m probably doing something wrong?
Are the install instructions just out of date? Or did I download the wrong thing somehow?
Is there an easy way to toggle it all off/ on?
Are there rules to follow to prevent it from crashing the sim?
It’s been recommended in a few places to me recently, and although I was initially underwhelmed, when I managed to switch the profiles OFF, it became obvious what a difference it was making… but i feel like I’m missing something, as it seems like a lot of faff to get working correctly… I’m probably missing something obvious?
