I often find MSFS quite educational in terms of learning things about places that I was not aware of. The latest of this was while flying up the Rhine from EDNY at Friedrichshafen to EDFM at Mannheim after installing City Update 6. At a few places I noticed canals and construction on the river that I could only think were run of river power generation installations. Each of these seemed to have three distinct paths for the river to flow: a hydro dam, a lock system for boats and what seems to be a bypass with a weir, possibly for fish? Some images:
Over and above this learning experience I really enjoyed the quality of the scenery with CU 6.
