Trying to figure out where to install the RJ Professional liveries once downloaded. I stuck them in the community folder per usual but as you can see it actually created extra aircraft (not just liveries).
In this case I added some RJ70 model liveries and it made additional RJ 70s. The liveries are supposed to appear in the liveries part of the sim, not in the aircraft selection part. Anyone figured this out?
it takes you into the plane configuration chooser (of which there is just 1, passenger).
There 3 levels:
plane model (70, 85, 100)
plane configuration (pax, cargo)
plane livery
What looks to be happening is the additional liveries added to the Community folder are generating additional models incorrectly. I’ve not seen this happen before. This is what is happening in the screenshot.
I believe this means that the third-party livery manifest files are not set up correctly, perhaps using FS2020 structure. I know I’ve seen this happen.
You might be able to edit the manifest.json file to fix this, if you feel adventurous.
I believe this is not because of the manifest.json but due to the ui_createdby entry in the aircraft.cfg in the livery. If we change those to the ones from the default liveries of the addon, this issue doesn’t happen.
I used this to “fix” the unruly aircraft/livery organisation for 2020 aircraft in 2024 as well, no offence to any livery creators.
2024 really dropped the ball on aircraft organization menu and selection process.
Agree. It’d be nice to have some sort of Tree view in the Plane selection page: Model > Variant > Livery. Too many mouse clicks right now. It’s especially a pain with the Fenix A32x. I always have a hard time remembering what airline livery is found in what variant.
Supposedly SU5 beta has some new functionality along this line, per the Release Notes. I haven’t opted in to the beta yet, so unsure what it is.
