Robin DR400 cruise speed?

Does anyone fly the default Robin DR400 in the sim? What’s your normal cruise speed, please? I can barely reach 110 kts yet I read it should be 150 kts. It’s awful at climbing, I can’t leave any airfield surrounded by hills. Is there a trick I’m missing? I’ve tried reducing the mixture to 50%, hardly any improvement over the mixture at 100%.

I’m not sure why you think 150 kts. You can see the specs when you select the aircraft in the game. A quick google search returned this list of all the aircraft. It shows 115 kts for the DR400 so it seems you’re getting what you should be getting.

That’ll teach me not to use Wikipedia as my first reference. Many thanks.

There’s a thread here somewhere where someone who has access to one of these in his local club says it really isn’t powerful. The one in the sim is the 100 HP model, which is quite anemic!

The specs shown at the bottom of the wiki page are for the DR400/180 Régent variant which has a 180hp engine. The variant we have in game is the DR400/100 Cadet I which has a 118hp engine. Thus the difference

There are two mods for the DR400, one with 155hp and one with the 180 hp engine. Both also have other modifications.
I didn’t test the 180hp one, as I have moded the 155hp from Dranbar with a 180hp engine.
They are free, test them and choose the one you prefer, or even both of them.

I didn’t mention it because DisposingTen327 seems to have a lack of power on T/O at some airfieldss.

I fly a DR400/180 Regent in real life and 150kts is definitely not the cruise speed. Normal cruise speeds at 75% is app. 125 KTAS.

Well the wiki says 150 is the max speed for the Regent, it says 134 for cruise though and sources the 1976-77 Janes’ All the World’s Aircraft. Maybe that’s what Robin claimed the cruise speed is in spite of what it really was?

Well vne is 150kts. So the never exceed speed.

Depending on the mounted propeller 134 ktas might be possible but with a mixed propeller (compromise between climb and cruise performance) 120-125 ktas is the max.
