Robinson R66 Turbine: TailRotor Joystick Input InputBug (e.g. from SaitekProFlight-X-56-Rhino-Throttle)

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Input Input for tail rotor is not working as expected on Robinson R66 Turbine.
In contrast to Airbus H125 and Guimbal Capri G2 where input is working as expected, the helicopter swings back when turning the stick back into the reference position.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
Robinson R66 Turbine.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
habe none.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
always

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Start scene with Robinson R66 Turbine.
  2. Get in Air (Hover)
  3. Turn joystick z-axis to right or left - okay this part.
  4. Let it turn back to middle position → not okay

I don’t think this is hardware related, I’m experiencing this with a Thrustmaster Airbus.

I think what’s happening is that the pedal assist is ignoring control inputs (or there’s a bad multiplier being applied to the logic). It wants to zero your yaw even if you’re trying to do a pedal turn. It’s recentering wherever you’re holding it. So when you return to center on the hardware, it’s reacting as if you’re actually giving an input in that direction. So it’s totally impossible to do a pedal turn because you end up almost back where you started.

I have a 50% edge deadzone because the stick twist is just too twitchy otherwise, and it zeros out the yaw for me even at full twist. So it could be that it’s only allowing you to overcome the assist at above 50% input deflection. Which is way too high considering how twitchy the sim treats yaw inertia. I’m convinced either the base fight model has a bad calculation for yaw moment of inertia, or the recommended default coefficient that every dev uses is too low. But that’s another story. Anyway, I’m not sure if the pedal assist limits are part of the aircraft cfg, or if there’s just something about the R66 flight model that makes it more pronounced.
