Rolling Cache won't update file location or size in settings and Rolling Cache file does not exist anywhere

My C: drive has 25GB free. I have been using a 128GB rolling cache on my A drive and it works well. I can see the sim reading and writing to the A drive rolling cache using various monitors.

I now want to move the rolling cache off the A drive to my new and even faster NVMe I drive which has 350 GB free space.

I change the settings in online and select the appropriate folder on the I drive. The online sim settings reflect the changes. I click Save and go back into the sim Free Flight.

I now see that the sim is no longer referencing the rolling cache on the A drive nor is it reading/writing to the I drive.

I go back into online settings and see that the rolling cache path is set back to the correct (before I tried to change to the I drive) folder on my A drive but the size has been reset to 16 GB.

Nothing I do allows me to force/request/instruct the sim to use the folder I point at on the I drive and now it will not use the A drive folder despite the online setting showing it correctly referenced.

HOW do I force the sim to use the folder on the I drive?

Solved!

I stopped the sim and quit to desktop. I then restarted the sim and was able to move the rolling cache to the I drive just as I expected to.

The 2024 version of Flight Simulator is nothing if not INCONSISTENT!

IMPORTANT!!! In many scenarios, simply resetting to default is not enough. In this case, MAKE SURE THAT THE FILES AND FOLDERS IN WHICH IT IS LOCATED ARE NOT “HIDDEN” AFTER DEALING WITH RESET TO DEFAULT.

I have been plagued by this same problem for days. MY SOLUTION!!

I was in developer mode the whole time! Turned it off and BANG, all is good with the world now as far as creating a Rolling Cache in 2024.

Go to online menu, press reset settings, leave the fs2024, go back again them you will could change that.

This bug is still present today even on SU3 Beta!

This was the thing that solved this for me. After restart setting was reverted to default c: roaming something. But now I could actually change it.

Having this issue too. Cleared space from my C drive, tried resetting default settings and still no fix. I go in and size is 0GB and cannot change the rolling cache location.

I feel like I’ve had this issue months ago and solved it by moving the CCC file into the folder it was stating in settings, restarting the sim, then could edit it. But my issue now is I cant see the entire path in the sim to where they want the Rolling Cache. Does anyone know if there is a config file anywhere where i could see the path set for the rolling cache?

Does anyone have an idea? I recently built a new PC, and now my rolling cache is pointing to a folder that doesn’t exist on this system. The rolling cache size is also set to 0. I can’t find any rolling cache files at all. I already tried changing the folder location, but no new rolling cache file gets create. while saving it in the menu.

At that point you might have to completely uninstall the sim, delete any configuration files you might have, and reinstall.

Thank you. completely soved problem
