Rowsfire A320 OH Panel vs Sim Guages A320 OH Panel

Hi All,

I’m in the market for an overhead panel, and given given I’ve already for the Winwing MCDU and FCU/EFIS, Figure I might as well keep to the airbus theme and get an A320 or similar overhead panel.

A quick search around tells me there are a few

VR Insight - This is reasonably expensive at around $1600 AUD. It also seems rather dated and, whilst its full size, it seems to lack some functionality I’d like.

SKALARKI - I don’t want to remortgage the house, so this is out.

Rowsfire A107. This mini panel looks pretty good and there are a number of recent reviews.

SimGauges. Mini panel that also looks compact and has nice features.

Does anybody have any advice or input on the Rowsfire or Simgauges panels? I’m pretty keen to be able to use SPAD.Next to program them to avoid having yet another third party app running. I understand the Rowsfire uses a Mobiflight profile whilst the Sim Gauges uses its own software, similar to Winwings SimAppPro.

Happy to hear any comments on quality etc etc….there are a few online reviews but I looking for less “sponsored” content

Cheers

I would wait for winwing to come out with one. Those two are insanely overpriced and the quality looks really bad (3D printed)

If I thought Winwing might have one in the next 12 months then maybe, but they’re quick to announce things and slow to actually release things. The EFIS for the 737 was announced a year ago and still no sign of it. At FSExpo this year they were showcasing a heap of new airbus stuff and when I asked got told that they are about 18 months away. An overhead wasn’t even discussed.

Have you considered or are you aware of touch screen overheads. The best thing being the versatility over fixed hardware. Fly the A320 one flight and then switch to the 737, A380, etc as easy as a couple of mouse clicks once configured. Will also do GA of any kind if that’s also part of your thing. I fly too many different aircraft that fixed type specific hardware for any functional components just doesn’t work.

Or get yourself an x-touch mini. You can have all the functionality of those pieces of hardware and much more flexibility in terms of aircraft, and much cheaper.

I do like the idea, but the number of aircraft that make their overhead available isn’t as much as I’d like. Don’t think you can do it with the Fenix for example can you? Or the iniBuilds A350? I do have Avalisoft to allow it with the PMDG aircraft tho…

That looks nothing like an actual overhead panel. Might as well keep using my StreamDeck.

No, I’m looking for an actual overhead. I’d consider a touch panel if it was easy to make work. I could buy a 32” touch screen I guess.

There is an overhead for the Fenix but not the A350 as of yet. There is the 737 and 747 also plus a FBW A380 one coming as well. They take a lot of time to create so you need to allow a significant amount of time after the sim aircraft release for an overhead to be available.

Which manufacturer are you referring to with regards to the Fenix overhead? I can’t see anything from Aviaworx in relation to a touchscreen option….

The place for touchscreen control is Air Manager. Aviaworx by comparison has a tiny offering of panels and is a closed eco system. Try these Discords for more info

Thanks for the replies @Sling380 - I’ve had a look but struggling to find an overhead panel that seems to work with the Fenix. Most of what seems available is for the generic Asobo aircraft.

FSElite did a review of the Rowsfire A320 Overhead and it seems pretty disappointing. Will pass on it based on these reviews.

The Fenix A320 is here. It was linked in thd Simstrumenration Discord I posted the invite for.

Where did you get the touch panels for the a380? Been looking for them but can’t find it.
