Hi for some reason when I start the engine there is no increase in rpm/mp when I move the throttle can someone help me?

When you raised your throttle, the manifold pressure went straight to the top of the green arc like it’s supposed to do. As for RPM, your mixture was pulled back a bit, so that may have an effect on available power, but the tachometer did spike a little before the constant speed governor kicked in to reduce the RPM some - but it was still higher that idle. I don’t have the Black Square mod, so I can’t test to verify anything else.
The rpm does go up as expected with the throttle, at about 3:58. What seems to be the problem?
(I notice OP tried to start the engine with the alternator off earlier in the recording, perhaps one of these times is when the rpm didn’t change?)
There is no increase in engine sound
Yes, there is. Idle noise starts at 3:50, the sound pitch goes up just after the throttle goes up around 3:59-4:00.
I hear a change in sound that corresponds with the tach reading. It may be a little subtle, but it’s there. When the throttle is firewalled, the sound of the engine RPM increases from idle and then settles back in conjunction with the tach.
But the rpm doesn’t increase when I do full power let me try and do another video
Increase the throttle gradually - it’s possible that slamming the throttle like that is affecting the governor.
To make sure OP knows – this plane has a constant-speed prop; that means the governor will try to maintain the engine/prop at a specific RPM. Once it’s hit enough power to reach that, it won’t go much faster unless you ram the throttle up so fast it runs the speed up faster than the governor can hold it back. It’s normal and expected for the rpm to remain consistent from somewhere in the middle of the throttle range up to full throttle if you’re moving it slowly.
What you should see in that case is the manifold pressure going up. We haven’t had a chance to see a test of this in the video originally posted.
Yes I am aware. Also a pilot IRL
I just tested the stock Bonanza, and it does increase more than what’s in your video. That said, you may need to contact Black Square regarding the way they coded their mod.
I know it’s user error cause it works just fine with autostart
I want someone who has this aircraft and flies it…
I have been using the BS Bonanza for a few months now. Havent seen that kind of issue on my end.
Are you manually starting the aircraft?
Yes all the time. Nothing but cold and dark
I think you flooded the engine with priming in too long… usually 3secs on high boost is enough
But the engine started and was running and just quit. Flooding it wouldn’t start at all.
