RPM drops in Discovery flights even though throttle 100%

msfs-2024 throttle spad-next
I have a strange experience on discovery flights (mainly tried NY flight). My flight starts but the RPM just creeps downwards over about 20 seconds so I never get beyond Central Park. The throttle is showing full on and responds to my Saitek yoke mapping.
I have followed the remapping videos to remove references to my Yoke mappings from MSFS as I use Spad.next so don’t think anything is going on there - this is applied to all aircraft.
If I select free flight modes I don’t get this issue !!!

Like everyone finding the new sim a challenge and more work than anticipated to get it into a workable state but hoping to start enjoying it soon.

Any advice welcomed.

What alttudes are these? Are you adjusting the mixture correctly?

Anything mapped to ‘engine auto-stop’?

I had that (and auto-start) on a toggle switch and it would have a similar effect if a flight was started with it in the wrong position.

Curious as to why your issue would specifically affect discovery flights though.

I have it (I think) on auto mixture but will check - thanks. It’s not a problem in flight I make myself - just the discovery ones !

Thanks - I have buttone on Elgato StreamDeck which are for emgine on/off. I don’t think it’s that as the prop is going and also the throttle showing it is fully open and I can move it with my throttle control, just the RPM drops down rapidly - it can pick up again if I pitch down but that leads to still not gaining more than 1,000 ft altitude
