I have an eye on an RT6800XT to upgrade from my RT5700XT the new year. I would rather purchase a new AMD 7000 series GPU to stay current with the technology with similar performance to see if the higher cost is affordable for me.
I haven’t had much luck finding performance or pricing info yet on the new AMD 7000s. Does anyone know where I can get this, recommendations also very welcome!
I did upgrade my cpu from a R7 3700 to an R7 5800X3D. Great investment for the performance improvement!!!
I’d stay right with this as it is the current CPU king for MSFS. Only if the yet-to-be-released 7X00X3D is markedly better than the 5800X3D would I upgrade to a 7000 series motherboard and DDR5 RAM.
The RT7900XT and 7900XTX don’t release until December 13th meaning we won’t see 3rd party benchmarks until a day or so before that. According to AMD the 7900XT/XTX is the replacement for the 6900XT/6950XT. They have not, as of yet, announced a replacement for the 6800 and it’s unlikely that they will until next year
As I originally stated above I upgraded my cpu from an R7 3700 to a 5800x3d with great performance increases.
Now my next area I could enjoy a large performance is upgrading my RT5700XT. I was going to wait until early next year but after a lot of investigating I decided to purchase the AMD RT6800XT.
Wow, another big bang for the buck and almost in my budget! 
The performance and experience increase is simply phenomenal to me. I don’t see having to do a major upgrade again for quite some time.
I’m still fine tuning my settings but the increases I’ve been able to make are incredible!
