Haven’t Played Flight sim in a while getting back to it but where is the manual?
I think these forums are becoming the manual… Agree one would be nice - some of the menus take some work to figure out.
YouTube has tutorials and will, no doubt, have more. Watch Amazon: I suspect MS will have books for sale there. You can also download manuals for specific (real) airplanes and Garmin GPS.
Check out the specifically for you section in the forum called Guides A good start.
YouTube is okay but a keyboard layout will be nicer than stopping the game to because you looking in the back plane and don’t know key to press to look front …
Seeing as the physical boxed copy of the game comes with a printed manual I’m a bit surprised theres no pdf available. Maybe they’ll release it soon. I hope so
Lot’s of guides are coming around slowly but surely. #guides:new-pilot-help-guides is a good starting point.
You may want to take a look at this site: https://www.flightsimbooks.com/
Specifically, at “Microsoft Flight Simulator Handbook”, by J.M. Stern, available there. It is still largely relevant today, even after more than 25 years. Amazingly, the controls scheme didn’t change much in MSFS since version 5!
Another good book: “Flight Simulator X For Pilots – Real World Training”, by West and Lane-Cummings. It is still available on Amazon and the flights can be downloaded. However, they do not work in FS2020. Someone would do a great service by duplicating these training flights for FS2020.
It’s not even worth mentioning. It’s not a manual, just a very brief overview of the contents.
You’re not missing anything by not having that.
One useful thing was the keyboard layout in A4 size, but that’s something you can create yourself based on your own key bindings.
I guess that could happen if Asobo got permission from Aerosoft who created the boxed version including aforementioned manual.
I purchased “A Guide to Flight Simulation” put out on sim-markets website. Published by So Fly, they update it almost weekly, those are included in the price. Good Sections on Navigation in the TBM-930, waiting for the 787/747 navigation information. The training built into the Sim is poor to say the least. As mentioned above, more in-depth and better training exist and there is YouTube. That no “HELP” menu in the Simulator is a major failing. That there are not “manuals” on the planes are a failing as well. When in USN, pilots had NATOPS manuals they were tested on concerning Type of AC flying/assigned. No, that is way overkill here, but we need in depth manuals built into Sim to teach all of us how it works, and to understand the newest electronics in the planes. Beating an old horse to death here.
