I am getting extremely low FPS when playing this game on pretty much any settings.
I’ve tried all the presets, tweaking them and also tried optimising via Nvidia App based on my systems hardware.
At best I’m getting 25-30fps when stationary but it stutters when you move the camera and then when moving far less.
I can’t really find any information close to these specs online from similar users, does anyone play on the same/similar system and if so how’s it been, what’s your settings and are you getting the same?
30 FPS should be an easy target for my specs, which sometimes it reaches but when it stutters it’s unplayable. Any help appreciated, I’m just a casual gamer so I don’t know all the ins/outs of what to be looking for here
Yeah 30FPS is the target I’m looking for but when it lags or drops to 10-15FPS for no reason its unplayable, I don’t know what causes it either, I don’t run anything else in the background except Discord usually…
When you load in its great but after a few minutes when you start clicking buttons and such thats when it starts to drop
Hi.
My specs are kind of similar but I only have a Ryzen 3600 and 16GB.
The GPU is the same.
I run most of the settings at medium. Only clouds are on High. TLOD and OLOD are on 100 and dynamic is engaged. Raytraced shadows are off. They tank the fps.
I run it on 1440p with TAA at 120.
My FPS on ground with airliners and injected traffic from BATC is about 25-30.
I can live with it.
I don’t experience a lot of stutters.
On cruise the fps usually goes up to 35-40. I have it locked at 40 on the NVidia Control panel and Vsync on in the sim.
The main thing with this gpu is keeping the VRAM under control.
Fire up the developer mode and turn on the FPS counter.
Take readings from the VRAM.
If its constantly on red that’s bad. The FPS will tank and you’ll get a lot of stutters.
If that’s the issue first thing is drop the texture resolution to low or drop the screen resolution or try the various settings in DLSS which effectivly lower the render resolution.
If you’re running AI Traffic, lower the settings. If you’re running custom highly detailed airports, lower the texture res and the LODs.
If you can get the VRAM consistently on yellow or white and still have low FPS you maybe the CPU is being stressed and you will need to check the settings that most affect it, like LODs.
Be careful with some 3rd party quality airplanes since they can eat a lot of CPU cycles and extra VRAM. Like the FBW A380 even on low res texture setting the VRAM will always be overflowing.
I’m not very familiar with your CPU but don’t expect a flawless 60FPS with it. It’s only a bit better than mine. Same speed but double the cores which MSFS probably doesn’t take full advantage yet.
Hope it helps.
