RTX 3090 / 8k

Another article of the same info.

Wow, that’s just embarrassing.

It depends for some people - For some the 3090 may just be what it takes to hit 60fps in most of their flying, compared to 54fps for the 3080.

However they should wait until Big Navi comes along before making their purchasing decisions.

Not really decided what to do. I intended to go for some 65 inches 8k tv, don’t know if it’s a good idea

Besides, all the available VA panels 8k ( 65 inches ) have a poor native contrast ( 1630:1 ??? WTF )
IPS panel it’s out of question

If I’d have 20-25 fps average @8k, I’ll be okay with that

RTX 2080 ti - 32 fps
RTX 3090 - 46 fps

4k Ultra

My question is this. Can anyone actually tell the difference between a 4k and 8k scene? I have a 75 inch 4k on my wall. I sit about 15 feet back. I can tell a difference between that and 1080. I dont game on my TV.

I had a 4k 60hz monitor for my computer. I dont remember but it might of dropped down to 30hz when doing 4k gaming. That was over 4 years ago.then I switched to a samsungusing 27iin curves 1440p with a 144hz monitor. Oh my what a big difference. Sitting an arms length away from my monitor. I would not go back to 4k gaming on my pc. For me 1440 is the sweet spot and I have not noticed the visuals worse than the 4k. Granted im running at a much higher refresh rate. It just looks ao buttery smooth. I gave my son my 4k monitor. And upgraded to the same Samsung monitor but in 32in. Gave my son the 27in and he noticed a big difference over the 4k monitor.

I guess my point is just because you are capable of doing 8k does not mean its better. Especially depending on distance from the TV to where you are are sitting.

Personally I think 8k gaming is dumb. But if you are one of those people who want 8k gaming for bragging rights then go ahead. Im sure in 20 years from now 8k TV will be the norm. Technology is always improving and the early adopters help bring down costs and make new technology become the norm over time.

fijock, as I said, I have now a Samsung 4k, 55 inches
That means, 80 ppi
All I want is, a larger screen
If I go for 65 inches, 4k, that means 67 ppi, which is isn’t that great
Is the same with 32 inches full HD.
You can see and count the pixels…
That’s the only reason I’d go for 8k
Larger than 55 inches and clear, sharp image

I was not directing my comment directly towards you. I was just saying in general for me, I think 8k is not worth it.

I know, but that’s the only way to play it on a larger display with a pretty clear / sharp / image

How do you have your controller setup? I have mounts that clamp on my desk and hold my throttle and stick. I use track ir or vr depending on the sim im using.

Same here, but no VR
I can’t imagine MSFS 2020, on a larger display ( 65 - 75 inches, 8K )

Best way is to play on your 4k TV, put on your 3d glasses, turn on the 3D and have fun.

Well, I don’t want to simulate the "Avatar " movie
