RTX 3090, Ryzen 9 5900x, 32GB of RAM and FPS at Big Airports below 24 FPS. Help me!

For you folks that think the sim doesn’t use over 16gb of vram depends again on what you’re running mods installed, where you fly

Can you give us a short instruction on how to use this windows debloat?

I’ve also noticed this about games… of the 8GB available on the GPU, I’ve never seen it maxed out either.

That window shows total ram usage, but it does not show how much ram is used by MSFS alone.

Switch to the “Processes” tab to see that.

It just shows you the PC uses more if there is more available.I will post another to show the sim’s ram usage! Same with vram you have more it will use it.
There you go! its clearly using over 16gb of ram.My point is proven and I don’t want to flood the OP’s post!

That appears more accurate, but its still a far cry from 32GB+… buying 64 GB of RAM for ANY gaming PC is absolutely unnecessary.

In fact, 16GB for a gaming machine is recommended and more is rarely, if ever, needed.

Yes MSFS will use more than 16GB of ram if required I’ve seen mine as high as 24GB.
I’m running at 1440p with a mix of high and ultra settings on my 3700X CPU and 2070 Super 8GB gfx card.

With just windows loaded and my Anti-Virus etc… about 3GB

With Plane sitting on Runway at EGLC about 20GB

When I had only 16GB of ram it used to use about 15GB in the same locations with the same settings.

It clearly takes more if it is available and required.

You should get this window:

I click on Essential Tweaks and let it run untill it says “completed”.
Then I click on all the buttons to the right of it to disable all cpu draining bloatware, like action center, background apps, cortana etc. I don’t click on dark mode or light mode. I also deleted OneDrive by clicking on its button. I don’t use it on my gaming pc.

FINALLY I have found the holy grail to optimum performance. Now I am getting 30 to 35 FPS at KLAX.

The secret is to get the 1:1:1 ratio with the MCLK, FCLK and UCLK. Which is the infinity fabric to memory speed ratio in the AMD Ryzen Systems.

As stated above I was struggling before but now I have been doing circuit landings at KLAX with full Ultra graphics and clouds at 30 to 35 FPS which is a huge gain after 20 FPS.

The ratio stated above can be ascertained by using a software called Zen Timing and may be downloaded from this link : zen timing
I hope that this post will help other people who were struggling like me.
My Setup:
Resolution : 4K 4096 X 2160
RTX 3090
Ryzen 9 5900x
64GB 4000mhz RAM
ASUS ROG Strix B550F Wi-Fi
MCLK = FCLK= UCLK= 1800

Hello CaptainDV8814, what i have to do to get 1800 in MCLK, FCLK and UCLK? At the momment, they are at 1500.

Thanks.

for 1800 the Memory needs to run at 3600MHz (2*1800), right now it looks like your memory is running 3000MHz.

Yes Mort is right. I have 4000 mhz RAM running at 36000Mhz. The MCLK is always half so you need a 3600Mhz RAM for a 1800 configuration. BTW which processor are you using?

Ok thank you both.

You are right… My maximum RAM speed is 3000 Mhz.

My set up is: rtx 3090, Ryzen 9 5900x and 32 gb of RAM.

You may also see the aforementioned link.

so you need to go for a 1500 FCLK configuration. Do you feel like you need to increase your speed ?

If so go for a 3600 mhz RAM. My CPU was not stable on the 2000 mhz config when I kept my RAM at 4000mhz.

I also don’t feel the need to go over 1800 FCLK. System is stable and I’m getting great framerates at full ULTRA settings.

I saw the video 1:1:1 and i think i match this (im not an expert in pcs).

For now, i think is not necesSary to upgrade my RAM.

Thats great . Well done. I am sure your performance has improved.

I’ve got 1800 across the board and performance is still quite weak.

What is your FPS at KLAX ?
