Hello guys, I hope everybody is having a good day in sim!
Im building a new PC and basically have a hard time thinking if allocating money to the RTX4090 (currently having HP Reverb G2 in order to increase resolution 3500x3500 or more) or, spending less money on graphic card, looking for a rtx3090, maybe used, and combine it with the pimax crystal.
Any option or ideas?

Depends on what you prefer: FPS (go for 4090) or image quality (go for Crystal). But it will be some sort of compromise vs. Crystal + 4090 which seems like a well balanced but crazily expensive set.
You may also consider: go for 3090 for VRAM or 4070Ti for GPU power and energy efficiency - you will not need powerfull power supply.
Finally: I would rather wait, possibly prices will drop or maybe you will be able to save enough for both Crystal and 4090 in a couple of months… Or something more affordable but still powerfull will appear on the market
If I wouldn’t be able to wait I would buy 4090 now and enjoy it with Reverb G2 (no longer performance compromises, just pure joy of flight). Then I would go for Crystal or maybe something else will appear.
With 4090 you will be able to supersample on the G2 and run it with TAA, so you will see image quality improvement.
GPU is a part of your PC, headset is a peripheral.
If you will buy 3090 now part of your budget will be spent and you will need to save longer for 4090. You will not get all the money back when attempting to sell the 3090. It’s becoming old.
hahahaa that is exactly my same dilemma. Either upgrade my pc RTX 3071 I7 10700F and max settings on Fs2020 and use my current R G2 or go for the Pimax Crystal now and update pc 12 mths from now.
People on Reddit have reported issues with the 3090 and the Pimax Crystal. You may want to google it and see if it’s the right card for you. I’d go for the 4090 as you will get both an FPS boost and can super sample to get great sharpness with the G2 with pretty much everything on Ultra.
