Hi guys, why the rudders stuck in one position? When taxing or in flight the rudders get stuck in one position when I toggle them. What’s happening?
I’ve been having issues with my rudder for a while now. I know the reason is my 14 yr old X52 joystick sending errand signals. So I finally followed some advice from the forum here and did bind the rudder control with the ailerons. Taxiing has never been so beautiful.
I know side slip maybe difficult to achieve but then again can’t remember the last time I needed it.
Side slip may be difficult ? With the ailerons and rudder bound together, Side slip will be impossible. SO much for coming in too high. There must be some sort of configuration error, I used an old MS sidewinder and now a thrustmaster and do not have the trouble you describe.
No this just started with the update for me. Like the tail/nose wheel has no steering return (caster). The plane is not returning to center after releasing pressure on the pedals/joystick.
Hello, i have the Same Problem. Since the new Update my Rudder stucks and dont come Back to neutral. I Play with ps3 Controller. Now i used a ps4 Controller but nothing Changes.
You need to reassign the Rudder to:
Right Axis and Left Axis
My Rudder is assigned to left and right axis. The problem is no return to Center after releasing the Button.
That was some really bad advice. How about mapping to the rudder axis and increasing the deadzone until the errant signals are ignored. Bonus this week. By decreasing the reactivity as well you won’t have the rudder suddenly slam one way or the other when you come out of a large deadzone.
What controller are you using?
I have a PS4 controller. Before the update, it worked perfectly. Since the update, the axes that I use for the rudder are only moved digitally. In the controller settings, after releasing the button, everything returns to the neutral position. But in the sim the rudder stops where I release the button …
I’d recommend you take your bindings off “left rudder”/“right rudder” and just assign your rudder to just the regular rudder axis.
Regards
The new update requires you to map the triggers to the corresponding axis.
- Left Trigger > Left Rudder Axis
- Right Trigger > Right Rudder Axis
This will give you proper analog rudder control instead of the flip/flop you had before with game controllers.
Make sure you remove the YAW bindings you had.
It works. You just have to display “all” in the search field on the left. Then you will also find the new Axis left and right. Re-assigned, works. Thanks for the help. Finally analog rudder again.
I am using a Xbox Fusion controller. I just want the rudder to return to center when I release the left or right trigger. Trying to do what is suggested in this post but am having trouble finding axis settings described. Or do I just need to do something else for rudder to return to center when released? I tried auto rudder but does not seem to do anything.
Any solution? I’m having the same issue
I figured it out. When you change the sensitivity of an axis, sometimes MSFS stops detecting the correct neutral position of the joystick. In my case it thought the neutral position of my rudder was at the point where I’d have to twist it about 50% to the left. This means that when you have your joystick in the neutral position(not twisting), it was seeing that as being twisted(therefore the plane’s rudder was stuck in this position). The solution is to reset the axis and reconfigure your sensitivity again as desired. Hope that make sense.
