Saitek Cyborg 3D

Hi,
Hoping someone might be able to help set up a Saitek Cyborg 3D joystick - important for me as one of the few properly ambidextrous joysticks (I’m left handed but not all the family is). I appreciate it’s a bit old though.

Works fine in Windows 10 in other applications (eg IL-2), but in FS2020 it is partially recognised under controllers but unable to map any axes or buttons, and not able to use in-game.

Tried downloading driver (not easy to find) without any improvement.

Any suggestions very much appreciated (even if only for a newer ambidextrous joystick !)

Thanks
Chris

I use the same stick and I have it working. The built-in Windows 10 driver should be fine. Be sure to chose the “Axis” settings when assigning the analog functions.

When you’re making assignments, click in the column for the control you’re assigning so that the input config box pops up. Then click the mouse button in the “Search” box in that popup (It will turn light gray) and then operate the button or axis you’re assigning to auto-populate the setting choice boxes. Click “Validate” to save and return to the main select screen. Important – just selecting the button or axis manually doesn’t seem to work for most controls. You have to make it auto-detect by clicking on the empty search box and then operating the control or button – which triggers detection.

Your control should now be indicated in the line for the control setting. Press or move the assigned control, and you should see the textbox flash or a line underneath it move for an axis. When you’re done, click on “Apply and Save” at the bottom of the screen.

For stick sensitivity, I use Sensitivity at 39% and Deadzone at 2% on the “L-Axis X” and “L-Axis Y” inputs (The main stick). For the throttle on “Joystick Slider X” I use 0% sensitivity and 0% deadzone. Because I have rudder pedals, I leave the twist axis alone.
