No, not him
maybe you could find good documentation for your project on his videos flying the Savannah-S. Sadly, Ilan died last february due to a bird strike while on approach in this very airplane. He was a well-respected sim developer, beloved husband, father and friend.
I wish you the best luck developing the Savannah-S for MSFS and I really hope you finish it the way you envision it. I’m a livery painter myself and I would gladly recreate Ilan’s plane for free download, as a simple tribute and token of admiration for his work.

IMHO, all these ultralight planes with regular tires look like RC toys to me. But, if you put tundra tires on them, they suddenly became real sexy beasts.

This one is a Savannah XL
I thought I could give a little feedback as I started to work again on the model :
The doors I made at first are bad :
Frame is almost flat, but center should have a round shape.
I had to redo that as it gives a really nice feeling from inside the plane.
Here’s new left door :
As you can see, there’s still no textures, that’s rough fake materials everywhere
Hello,
I’m a real-world Savannah SR pilot and owner. Can I help you with anything?
I have this picture for the upper part of the ailerons :
Has anyone of you got a picture of the lower part ?
I guess there is the same kind of wired attachment to pull to the other side
I don’t have a picture of the lower part of a Savannah aileron but im pretty sure it’s the same. There also is an attachement and a wire connected to it
This looks like the elevator. Do you need the elevator or the aileron?
Hi. I’m in charge of the distribution of ICP airplanes in Spain. I personally own two Savannah S. I would like to cooperate to make this happen.
Yes, elevator, sorry
No problem. I’ll try to get some pictures next saturday. Would it be useful if I place a ruler of some sort in the picture so you can get the correct measures?
That would be perfect !
While you are at it, it would be cool to have details of the ailerons controls : I only have close pictures of the binding parts but nothing with the control cables
Alright I’ll get those on saturday.
Replying to myself here : there is a simple spring missing in the previous picture :
After a few weeks with no progress as summer hit us hard here (I couldn’t start the computer : inside temperature was already insane without msfs running) I finaly started again !
Last progress : I’ve worked on the fuel gauges :
It’s made of animated armature and as always with these things, import in msfs is strange and complicated !
Nb. No texture yet here
hey, just wanted to let you know that if you still need a pilot for testing, here’s my discord : .betapotato (or LazySeal if that doesn’t work). I am currently learning to fly on a Savannah so if you need anything else like pictures or videos you can just contact me from there
I have a first beta release ready to be tested !
It’s an unfinished plane (missing parts, no instrument, no texture…)
The aim of the beta-test is to refine the flight model.
Anyone willing to help on that topic is welcomed !
I had a discord server for my private use (to track requests, notifications, etc) and I have juste opened it : feel free to join to get files & help
See the invitation here : Contact me | BAGOLU
A little update here, as I have had a very limited time to work on the plane :
Nose & doors remade, wing redesign on center :
Default camera view repositioned to real pilot head position (tall pilots from msfs)
I also started to work on gauges :
Moderator Edit:
