If I start a flight choosing the airport (and apron location) and destination, the flight starts off normally. I then save the flight to my PC.
If I exit MSFS normally and select that flight fom the PC upon load/save, the Sim stops reponding (Task Manager MSFS details shows Not Reponding). I have to “End Task” in the Task Manager.
MSFS requires Safe Mode upon a restart of the Sim. Must leave MSFS again and start normally to continue.
My Add-on aircraft that I use does not show in the Safe Mode.
If I do not use the load/save function and recreate the same flight from scratch, the flight starts normally.
Does anyone know why?
Your addons aren’t supposed to show up in Safe Mode, actually, that is the idea.
When starting in Safe Mode, the sim intentionally loads without any addons, which will prove whether the issue that caused the sim to shut down abnormally prior to this start was caused by a mod conflict.
You should also be given the option for Normal at that time, you don’t need to select Safe. You should be able to choose either.
Is the flight you are loading a .pln file?
Thanks, I understood the addons aren’t used in the safe mode.
The real issue is why the .flt (not .pln) causes the not response of MSFS.
Loading .flt files can be, as another moderator put it, “almost a dice roll”.
Some folks have good luck with them, others do not.
The .pln’s should work fine.
I don’t use the .flt’s for just that reason.
