The scenery appears to be in sections, diveded by large cavers or gaps as in the attached just as though the scenery is joined

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
Also: can you share your in-game settings ( Level of Details , etc. ).. may be a screenshot ?
PS:
the default issue template contains a “template where users can answer to the bug”. This should normaly not changed. But not less users are a bit confused with that
Thanks for replying,
I will be able to start it later and will take more screen shots. I can’t help but think this occurred when I moved the sim to a new SSD, the graphics card is also new but had that before the SSD.
Your graphics are showing the default offline scenery, which might have issues with the locally stored terrain mesh.
I think you really want to enable the MSFS online features in the options, so you actually get the high quality terrain mesh and the BING maps real world ground textures. You are currently looking at MSFS in it’s ugliest possible form. You are missing out so much!
So, to fix this, go to General Options > Data and turn Online Functionality, Bing Data World Graphics and Photogrammetry on. Of course that will stream a lot of terrain data from the internet, so use with caution if you are on a limited data plan.
Another Offline/Online comparison from the Edinburgh area, just to drive the point home:
Hi, I did originally have all the world up dates and all that was available, since my reset and download of the sim the updates are not installed. However the problem originally occurred with everything installed, maybe i should have re-installed them as well, ill try it. Settings attached, though i have had them all on Ultra with same results.
Ok I will try it again, I did try back when sim first came out but didn’t like it much but will try it again. I currently installing all the world updates. I am thinking as well that when I moved over the sim to SDD the files got corrupted and i should have just done the reset and installed updates as now.
I will let you know and will try bing again.
hmmm.. but in a first test-run you can enable Bing-Data too.. I think, like @Jigsaw407 mentioned, that is the main cause. Seems the terrain data of these Offline-data is much lower and then there are some times this kind of issues.
Ah.. and you can also do these test-case after you have installed world-updates. ( one time off, another test with on ).. so we can be sure
As I say i will try it again, when the sim first came out I tried local flight and some scenery was too flat and objects not raised, such as stacks on our local refinery. But I’m always open on these things and will try again, especially as you seem so passionate on the subject
I doubt that switching off Bing graphics led to any improvements in that respect, because that is worse in EVERY respect. You never wondered why all those screenshots from other people on the forums and in announcement trailers looked so much better than your sim? I’m assuming you can tell the enormous difference in the screenshots I posted. If you are visually impaired in some way, I apologize.
As for smoke stacks, antennas and other VFR landmarks: check out the We love VFR addons on flightsim.to:
I have only just started fling VFR for some distance, have always enjoyed flying Jet or Turboprops in IFR, and very good i am too at that. IFR and flying at altitude and coming in on landings and take off, never noted any gaps or problems and after flying the OLD simulator this ahs been so enjoyable never really looked at the scenery in so much detail. I have recently been flying VFR and not seen the problem till i moved the sim to the SSD drive.
I have just flown again using Bing and yes not problems detected and did look good over Edinburgh, so will continue to use bing and thank you.
Still does not explain why the problem has cropped up. I will post a couple more screen shots without bing in case someone can explain or I find a solution
Just a few more screenshots of the gaps over Edinburgh area.
PLEASE NOTE I USING BING THERE IS NO PROBLEM AND WILL TRY BING AGAIN.
But here are screenshots over Edinburgh area, flying out Edinburgh, bank right towards the bridges the right again towards port with bridges to the left.
PS: I have near all settings on Ultra, with less powerfull system than yours and near 4K resolution ( tLOD at 190 ) .. of course my vsync is 30, which mean in my case I limit to 37.5 fps
