Scenery looks like a blurred blob from high altitudes. WORSE than mobile sims

I am finally able to fly using some workarounds, without CTD’s. and once I reached around FL360, I wanted to see my plane from outside. Everything looks weird. Please have a look at the screenshot attached. The scenery looks worse than a simulator meant for mobile phones. Just a pixelated blurred mess

Everything is set to Ultra(resolution 1080p)
NO bandwidth or data limit
No rolling cache.

This NEVER happened before SU5!

Am I doing something wrong, or is it the SU5?

I am under the impression that download servers can’t cope with the recent load increase. I was bush flying around Bryce Canyon the other day and had areas where no terrain data was loaded or entire tiles where missing. I assume certain network requests timed out. Others where queued so long that the higher-detail terrain popped in when I was already past it. An hour later these issues reduced, which I interpreted that less people streamed data at that point.

I do agree that the graphics deteriorated regardless of these observations. I run at 5K resolution with everything set to Ultra and 100% render scale. Still, it does not look as good as it looked before. I also have 10 seconds plus freezes three times so far. Others than that, the FPS is indeed more fluent and loading times reduced. So it’s not all bad.

Yes, would agree on the loading times and fps boost.

But did you also notice a drop in fps/stutter while panning the camera view using mouse/hat switch?

I noticed that suddenly the frames drop for a few seconds and then go back to normal.

Overall, I believe there are less stutters but when I pan left / right with the coolie hat (so 90 degrees left or right) there’s a brief lag while the scenery pops back in. All in all, the game renders more fluent and consistent.

Relax, it’s just a server question
