Screen shot from space! (almost)

Hello,
I made a flight test today to check new nvidia driver and latest windows update.
as I rush to go from A to B to test different location, I enter in over speed for a long time. I don’t know what happen then, thrust and speed became crazy and uncontrollable. I pitch up at high angle to loose speed but I didn’t and reach edge of space until the aircraft eventually stall.
I took the screen shot below.

Wow they really did it and reproduced a complete virtual earth. I bet even the constellation of the stars are authentic (and possible to navigate with it) and the moon is round too and not only a flat 2D bitmap hovering in the sky.
Very impressive!

The constellations are bitmapped on to an surrounding sphere and tend to get distorted but are good enough for basic orientation. Also they are overbright and blown up, they dont sprinkle and and and. So it looks very artificial, anyway, I am happy to see it this way.

They are, yes.

Yes they are. As is their seasonal motion. The only celestial objects visible from Earth IRL they don’t have are the planets. Planetary orbital mechanics are a bit more complex than the background of the stars, the motion of the sun and moon.

Horrible texturing and draw distances. I can’t make out any trees!

There is even solar eclipses. But… there are no moon eclipses ! There are limits to the model and distances involved, but they accurately modeled Earth and… the clock.
