During this week’s remote Hawaiian island tour, we begin at French Frigate Shoals (PHHF), fly approx. 17nm South, exploring islands, then head 81nm East to Necker Island, and finally to Bird Island (Nihoa), 156nm East/SouthEast as we make our way to the big islands.
I’ll be flying the new DHC-2 Beaver with Floats for this tour, but you fly what you want; No Rules, Just Flight!
Good Morning! Unfortunately, there are not many airports in these remote islands. The flight plan ends at at Bird Island (Nihoa). Bush planes and amphibious aircraft shouldn’t have an issue landing there.
As much as possible I do try to create plans with departing and arriving airports. Today I’ll be narrating the FSThunderbirds at the Flight Simulator Air Festival and didn’t have time to include the next island, which does have an airport.
I hope this helps and doesn’t keep you from coming and flying along with us today.
