Affects the Dornier Sea Star as well.
I suspect this is an issues affecting all the seaplanes. This was a problem in MSFS 2020 and its still an issue in MSFS 2024.
Just to confirm the issue: you are saying that it should not be possible to lower the landing gear once in the water ?
That would depend on the airplane. If it had a system to prevent that it should have it.
But what should be happening (or at least what I expect to happen in the simulator) is the landing gear can be lowered, the airplane should sit normally in the water, but the gear creates a ton of drag and could flip the aircraft over forward if you tried to land with them down.
The way it is now, the landing gear cause the airplane to “stand up” in the water like the water is only inches deep (when it isn’t).
Also NOTE the wheels spin when you move through the water as well.
I think the sim needs to be able to differentiate between a floating contact point that is meant to interact with the water and nothing else, and a landing gear contact point, that goes through the water and causes drag but cant support the aircraft on it.

• yes

• tested with the Goose and Icon A5 but issue is with all seaplanes having a landing gear
Looks like water has no depth so aircraft is rising upon lowering the landing gear
