Just a thought: This may be the spring season showing blossoms. It’s cherry-blossom in Japan & the trees their are showing blossoms. Are citrus trees blossoming in Florida at about this time in real-life? That might explain the yellow/pink trees/bushes.

I understand this may be showing spring blossoms, I knew that from the get go, but this shouldn’t be in South Florida, if the regional biome coding is correct. In regards to citrus trees, although they make “bloom” their blooms are very small and do not change the overall landscape.
Thanks - I don’t live in Florida so was unsure of what blooms when, where, or how visible it is from above.

For the most part it always looks like summer. For me it’s worse on the ground as I don’t even recognize the surroundings.
ISSUE DESCRIPTION
South Florida seems to have overdone seasonal renderings for trees, making it look very unnatural. This has gotten worse with SU2. The trees in this region should be green year-round.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue: Just landed at KPBI (in the Avanti P180 if t matters). All sorts of beautiful fall foliage being displayed, shown below. I’ve visited but never lived in Florida, but I don’t think this is realistic.
Weather: Live Time, Live Weather
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Just once. I’ll update this after I try another flight from KFLL to maybe KEYW today.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
-
Landed at KFLL. I didn’t particularly notice this behavior departing KJAX airport.
YOUR SETTINGS
If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub. I don’t have any special weather or scenery-related mods. I “droned-cammed” several miles away, and the fall trees kept appearing as I moved.
What peripherals are you using:
[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?
[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?
[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use?
[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share?
MEDIA
Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.

I am having the same issue in south florida. I live here so I like to fly in the simulator in this area. Right now it looks like vermont in october.

I continued from KPBI to KEYW. KEYW also had very lush fall foliage.
I just had the same thing happen in Palm Springs CA (KPSP), fall foliage on approach.
@DementedCorn327 Any superthreads on this? Want me to reopen my original one or do another?
There are some reports related to seasons: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/search?expanded=true&q=%23bugs%20tags%3Amsfs-2024%2Bseasons, but there is not a superthread one for this specific issue. I would suggest to create a report for California. If many states or Northern hemisphere countries are reporting the same, we’ll see if all could be merged under a main thread.

Same here. Orange palm trees at KEYW, lol.
So this is literally in my backyard in southwest florida, there is not a single yellow, orange or red tree anywhere this time of year. I just took these screenshots in the exact same location, with photogrammetry on and off (the angles are different because this John Denver experience was difficult to maneuver). With photogrammetry on the area is saturated with yellow trees, with it off there are still some but not as many. Either way its completely not realistic.
I stand corrected…there are Golden Trumpet yellow trees that are not natives, but many places have them. However, they are not all over the map like MSFS 2024 depicts them to be.
I WISH Florida had this type of October!!

I experienced the same thing, once while flying around Ft Lauderdale and Miami and also Iowa. Moving the month forward to June changed the trees back to normal. Thought it was odd that South Florida had leaves that were colurful, lol

What part of SWFL are you in? I live in the Cape.
Bonita Springs, small world, fixing to head over to FL90 and see how a 172 handles this wind.
Yolo! I have a discord with a bunch of other local SWFL sim pilots and real world pilots if you want to join let me know, I’ll provide the link! How did those winds at 90,000 or 9000ft fair?
