Second graphics card?

Thinking about adding a 2nd basic graphics card to run my two G1000 screens. I currently have a Tomahawk X570 board with a 3080. Is this beneficial over using a USB to HDMI adapter? Would my system support it without conflicts?

No, dual GPUs are not supported. Anyway SLI for consumer hardware is more or less dead. The drivers are also not updated anymore in this regard.

If there is a change noticeable it most certainly would be a performance hit :man_shrugging:

Not looking to do SLI. Just a second video “adapter” to provide more HDMI ports.

When you say “my two G1000 screens” are these physical hardware devices (like RealSimGear) or just pop outs / pop outs with Air Manager?

If you are just using pop outs / Air Manager, USB to HDMI dongles work just fine, allot of us use them.

Some want to move away from it and adding a second GPU like an Intel ARC, etc also works just fine.

Ah I See, this shouldn’t be a problem … a cheap video card should do the trick. To ease up the hassle with drivers I suggest to go with the same GPU manufacturer

Yes, just pop out screens.

Then you really don’t NEED a second GPU if you prefer to just go HDMI, they work fine but really personal choice.

I run the following;

1 48" Ultrawide Curved - DP to GPU
2 15.6" Touch screens - HDMI to GPU
1 24" Touch Screen - HDMI to GPU

That takes up my 4 ports

Then,

1 24" Monitor - HDMI to USB
2 iPad - SpaceDesk
1 Tablet - SpaceDesk

If your motherboard/cpu has on board graphics and you can activate it, then you can use that. I was able to do that, added 2 displays in addition to my 4 on the 3070.
