It would be great to have the ability to turn on and off the nameplates for aircraft players and the ones from boats.
It’s quite annoying, especially in large cities with sea, when we want to see the players but, at the same time, boats nameplates are displayed.

+1 for this. You should be able to separately enable / disable nameplates for multiplayer aircraft, live / AI traffic, and sea traffic.

This tends to a slightly wider point, too - you used to be able to mod stuff by changing the HTML templates for the UI, which was how nameplate mods used to work in 2020; but now all of the UI code is loaded at initial sim start and is then locked in the VFS so it can’t be overridden by add-ons, and so the only way to mod the UI is to change the actual base files with the sim shut down, and you have to re-do that every time the sim updates. That needs fixing.

Is it possible to bind a key to enable and disable AI traffic nameplates?

The key that enables / disables player nameplates also enables / disables AI traffic and ship nameplates. There is no separate setting / keybind - that’s what this wish is asking for.

Ok, but what’s the key? I can’t find any searching for nameplates in the keyboard bindings.

For me: I want to be able to turn other players, AI / live air traffic and ships on or off (which you can do already) and also turn nameplates for each of those on and off separately. I want to have all three simobject types turned on, but only see nameplates for other players.
(I’d also like to be able to edit / style the content of the nameplates, and I’d like all the nameplates to cycle through the information like they do in 2020, or at least have that as an option.)

I like options. Options are good. Unless it’s healthcare, then you just want the best there is.

This exactly. I want to see the injected ships and aircraft, but I do not want to see their nametags. I only want player nametags.
Please add separate options to enable visibility of player nametags, AI air traffic, AI ship traffic.

I’m always surprised to see how many people are operating boats. I’ve never tried it. Am I missing out on something?
You misunderstand. The ships are injected traffic to match real world ship operations. They’re not being controlled by other players.
Some of them appear to have Xbox gamertags though.
