Yep, happened after a game services update so I’m assuming that has caused an issue…
I’ve confirmed this is affecting me on both my PC (MS Store) and Xbox Series X (I’m unable to login to my Xbox account in the console dashboard). The issue appears to be affecting Xbox account authentication.
As @Jummivana posted above, we’re monitoring the Xbox Live Status page and will share more information with you as soon as we can.

According X Box Live (just checked via the link) all is ok - but clearly it is not

Umm… That support page is incorrect. It says all is OK, but still can’t login to Xbox Live server.

Same issue here in France. XBox status is green, yet MSFS still cannot sign in to Xbox Live. MS store version.

Same here. I’m on Xbox and keep getting the error of “the person who bought this needs to sign in”. US central time region.
Yes. I get a message that Xbox live is unable to connect.
It really is incredibly frustrating that in order to play a game we have to “log in” to a service that for many of us is completely redundant to our gaming needs, there needs to be a backup way of playing the game without the need to sign into the Xbox app.
It creates more issues than it’s worth.

Agreed. There’s been too many server issues over the past month. I miss the old days of buying a game, putting the disc in and you’re done.

I share the frustration at not being able to use the sim at moment but I guess we now have to wait and let them sort the tech issues. The purpose of the thread was simply to check to see if this was a widespread issue and if so to raise the issue 
Cant sign into PC, Xbox SX or any apk on android that is linked to Microsoft. Now you have disabled reporting like thats a solution. Thanks for wasting my evening.

Do you still have all your settings though? I thought all your sim settings is tied to your XBL account?
Just wait for the day you can’t log into you windows PC cus the MS servers are down.

I got in to the game, but all my settings were defaulted.
