Yeah whatâs the point of âofflineâ mode if I canât even start the sim, and why oh why wouldnât they cache our settings locally.
Workaround
1 Open ms store app and go to settings
2 Turn on offline permissions
3 Restart PC
4 Disable network card via device manager
// right-click > disable > yes
5 Launch MSFS
6 Click ok

7 Select departure ⊠> click Fly
8 Click > ready to fly
9 Enable network card
10 Press ESC > general options > data
11 Turn off online functionality > apply and save
12 Turn on online functionality > apply and save

Youâd need to have a hell of a lot more to play it offline, and even then youâd have no live weather, or live traffic.

Not working here in Brazil, Steam version.

Florida Steam version broke 
Up and seems running okay here in N. Texas but it just froze my A6 Intruder on carrier take-off.
Go back to DCS and continue on with my Huey gunship mission and stay there until things start improving.
That big update today might have had to do with everything that happened today.

The ongoing service outage is affecting all titles which require Xbox account authentication. It is not specific to MSFS or related to todayâs City Update.

Iâm worried I lost all my user history, was able to start up the steam version but my flight hours, activity history, user settings etc are all goneâŠ
London: I just magickly manage to run the sim (passed loading screen in black up to the menu) but without any online services: no photogrammetry, no real weather. Done small flight in CYYC on Cessna but I couldnât go back to main menu xd Happy not loose Flight Streak on Volanta

I havenât gotten in yet, so I donât think itâs fixed. Itâs likely the issue is not entirely universal for all users.
Still cannot authenticate here in California.
