Set an ILS on airport runway

Hi all ,

I would to set a ILS to Asobo-airport-LXGB-gibraltar RW27,
is this possible under FS2020 in Develop mode or somehow ?

I also downloaded ADE and opend this Airport and also set a ILS to that runway but i don`t know how to compile it over to the community folder.
Somebody out there who can help me here for the steps i have to do ?

cheers

Huh??? We all complain about this sim not yet being “real” enough except for scenery. We complain and wish for more realism in flight systems, flight dynamics, etc. We say we want airports as real and planes as real as possible in a simulator. So how can you complain that there is no way to make your airport LESS REAL?? If you want to do an ILS approach, do it at one of the thousands of airports that have it.

I don’t think Gibraltar has ILS, I think those are only RNAV.

Yeah, but OP wanted to open developer mode to add ILS to it

Ah, I see. I agree with you, if a runway in real life does not have ILS, seems unrealistic to try and artificially create one.

If I have a choice, I would put a Category IIIc ILS to VQPR (Paro, Bhutan).

lxgb rwy27.PNG|294x500 as per diagram attached i can confirm there is no ILS on either runway at LXGB. There both RNAV approaches

OK forget it, seems to me you guys don`t understand what i mean
like little childs

cheers

I think what we’re saying is that LXGB is not a hard approach even without ILS. You don’t really need to give it an ILS. RNAV approach is easy enough to do, and you can make it behave like a precision ILS approach if you’re on the right aircraft flying it the right way. Take my approach on RNAV the whole way for example into LXGB. The landing isn’t my best one, but it’s not too bad.

@Roadspider @Neo4316 He wasn’t asking whether the airport should have Ils or not he just wants to know how to add it. Up to him if he wants to add it to an airport especially if it’s for his own use. Not harming anyone else.

@lennwang500 easiest way I found to add the ils + glideslope was to use the option to add the ils within the SDK.
You just add the ils and position it at the opposite end of the runway centrally, think you set the heading of the ils in the direction away from the runway might be other way you will work it out.
You then drag the glideslope part to the point you want to touch down on the runway, make sure to set the angle most common is 3 degrees.
You can apparently do it via the xml file for the airport but it wouldn’t work correctly for me would never align to where it was placed.

Then you sit in the pilots seat.
I’ll watch you from the ground!

Thanks, i got it to work now with ADE ! ( Airport Design Editor )
