Setting trim for level flight - Please help

This is good advice.
Regular VSIs are pressure based and therefore do have some lag and ‘notchiness’ to them.
More modern glass cockpit aircraft (biz jets and up) usually have an “Instantaneous” VSI (IVSI) which uses the accelerometers of the navigation systems to reduce this lag greatly.

Hi. What plane is used during the VFR missions? I think auto pilot is disabled (and by default not available on a Cessna 152) on Microsoft tutorial lessons but if your lessons don’t block it, it should be available then. Will you fail a lesson if you use it?

Hi,

VFR uses a varied selection of aircraft, from the C152, DR400 and DA40.
Autoflight use won’t cause a fail and is free to use (if MSFS allows)
