WOW, I agree…
I jumped right in a 172 and quickly discovered that I no longer had nosewheel steering with my thrustmaster rudder control. Now I have to figure out how to recover nosewheel steering.
I had overlaid hud whilst In the cockpit. I just went to the assistance settings and everything was set to easy. So you have to go through that lot and disable what you need to.
All - And something else, but in my opinion a good thing. Before, open sim, the cooling fans for both GPU and CPU would spin up and it would make a horrendous noise. Today, and this is first, fans are hardly running while update is being downloaded and installed. Finally a good cooling plan, and I am on performance cooling, so system if needed it would spin up. Have not gotten whole package, so don’t know what works and what don’t. Testing this evening. Hoping for the best. But, I am going to back the whole thing up to a spare 4TB Drive once I have it all tested/configured, so I don’t have to spend days getting it again. Good flying.
Yes a way to stop the fans ramping up previously when updating was to use the nVidia control panel and set the Max Frames to something lower. The problem was, the update screen framerate wasn’t capped so would run at 100’s of frames a second raising the CPU/GPU usage and increasing temps.
Just a minor thing but before SU7 I could lower the panel, as if sitting on a cushion, by hitting the space bar and that view would last until I toggled the space bar again. Now the panel only lowers when I hold the space bar down. Sometimes you want to sit on that cushion.
All of my settings have been reset again. Everything is back on Easy and that ■■■■ HUD is back on the external view. This is all getting very silly and annoying.
Yeah I gave up today. I logged on earlier, set up the Hotas One sensitivity settings, checked the assistance options were right (they were), load up a flight plan, do a quick check on the mouse to check it works (it did) load up the flight. Load into my flight only to find the minimum hud on so checked the assistance options and low and behold they all show as easy, and the mouse doesn’t work. So today was a no from me.
Added to this, I’m moving home this weekend and apparently won’t have internet until 14th January as it stands (I told my supplier I’m working from home and their advice was to get a dongle - how about install the internet I informed you I needed a month ago??) So, I’ll not be online for a while.
