Share your hometown!

A lot of the flights I do take place close to where I grew up even if I haven’t lived there for many years. It makes me feel good to see all the places I know from my childhood.

I’m going to share my hometown and it would be fun to see where you guys grew up too!

This is the small town of Uddevalla north of Gothenburg in Sweden. It is situated by the Atlantic coast and has about 50 000 inhabitants.

There is actually a POI here! The Uddevalla Bridge (original name, yes) that was build in the late 90s and is considered one of the most beautiful bridges in Sweden. The night lighting is really pretty!

On the left is the suburb where I grew up. It looks pretty accurate even if the generic houses that Blackshark produces are a little bit too colorful. They are better suited for Norway and Iceland.

I did a low pass over downtown Uddevalla.

For some reason my throttle levers went full forward in the virtual cockpit which resulted in a failed left engine. I therefore had to land at the local aviation club airstrip which is situated in the middle of a golf course! Here I learned to play golf as a teenager and you had to watch out for landing planes as you crossed the airstrip to get to the second hole.

Better let the mechanics have a look at the engine.

That looks like a lovely part of Sweden, thanks for sharing.

My hometown is Tampa, FL. Loved growing up next to the bay and Gulf of Mexico!

And that looks like a lovely part of the US! I’ve only been to California, Arizona, Nevada and New York. Next on my list is Florida, mostly due to the wonderful weather and the beautiful beaches.

Excuse me, but Gothenburg is not situated by the Atlantic Ocean. The sea there is named Kattegat, or maybe Skagerrak. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
