For Xbox series X On MSFS 2024 using the TCA Thrustmaster Captains pack, assigning an axis to more than one control works at first then the game “drops” or forgets the second (or subsequent) assigned action even when the controller profile is correct.
Examples are: Having left and right brake axis assigned to a single slider, after a few seconds the controller only works on the right brake axis.
Assigning multiple engines to a throttle axis e.g for a 4 engined aircraft sharing engines 1 & 3 on throttle 1 and 2&4 on throttle 2, works when first assigned but after a short while only the mapping for engines 1 & 2 persists.
When I check the settings, the correct bindings are there, I return to the game and it works again, but only for a short time until the additional bindings drop again.
What do I need to do to make the (clearly working) configuration “stick”??!
I share my experience of a similar problem in the link, it might lead you to a fix.
In my case, the left brake axis stopped working only after I used the trust reversers. Fact is that I had a multiple key-binding assigned to the reversers and I realized it was not properly mapped somehow. I re-mapped it and it fixed the problem. Previously to this, I also found that I had an axis (rudder) which was assigned multiple times (like 3 or 4 times duplicate mapping) to the same function (rudder) most likely creating some conflicts (maybe this appeared while updating to the latest version). So when I was using the rudder to steer, only the right brake worked and when the rudder was back in the center, the 2 brakes functioned properly (this lead me to inquire on the rudder binding, finding the duplicate binding). So my assumption is that when there are too many functions assigned to an axis or even to a button, it would create a bug in the back-end or maybe max-out the number of signals being able to function simultaneously…. I do not have the same controller (I have a thrustmaster Hotas) but it looks like a very similar problem. If I were you, I would start by reviewing all bindings and make sure they are all “clean” or to erase and re-bind all of your controller’s functions. Maybe it would fix it. I hope it helps. Cheers.
