Sharpening slider to adjust sharpening of the sim (currently oversharpened by default)

So it has become some kind of thing to have sharpening and TAA change every single update.

I know that MSFS uses FidelityFX Sharpening method.
Like some other titles that also use it, please give us a slider that adjusts how much sharpening is being done.

It’s quite ridiculous how much sharpening there is right now.
We should not be forced to go to the .cfg and edit sharpening to 0 every single time.

Currently with WU6 it looks like there is a layer of sand over the entire scenery.
Disabling Film Grain did nothing, so i was pretty sure it was Sharpening.

Not having it at all is also not nice to be fair, but if we can have a slider to adjust it to our personal preference it would be nice.
Maybe add that in SU6/7 ?

It’s quite simple to do so.

This would be particularly useful in VR. I use reshade in VR in DCS and makes a big difference.

yeah it can make quite a difference between multiple different resolutions as well.
for example 1080p would maybe need more or less sharpening with TAA than 4K does.
that’s why most games these days add a slider for the FidelityFX sharpening.

While they are at it, please add options to fix exposure, color, HDR tone mapping, etc like every 2020+ game has. The exposure/gamma settings are WAY off in this sim.

Totally agree!

I just remembered that there is already a thread regarding post-processing sliders, including sharpening level. Perhaps they should be merged, that one has more votes.

We are quite a few patches in now and there is still a very oversharpened image.
Sebastian if you ever read this forum, please keep this suggestion in mind

@system a sharpening slider has been added in SU10

Though I am unsure why the old sharpening option still exists in the UserCfg.opt nor if it does anything.

Edit - for anyone that is curious, I’ve confirmed that the Sharpen option in the cfg file still works to enable or disable sharpening, and I’m guessing it applies to FX CAS now.

So can we close this since it was fixed in 2022?
