Shimmering and jaggies everywhere!

Please fix the shimmering and jaggies Microsoft! Whatever you guys did it’s also affecting other flight simulators… Prepar3D, DCS World, XPlane 11 all exhibit the same behaviors with anti-aliasing! Please fix this asap! Picture is from Prepar3D V5.

In MSFS I now get bad TAA, this is ridiculous and ruins the immersion!

The TAA is bad on MSFS, just look at the shadows, the wings and the fuselage… -_____-
Not as bad as Prepar3D but it is still noticeable, it was never like this before!

Hello,
it is virtually impossible for one simulator to affect the performance of another. I would suggest that the problem lies elsewhere, almost certainly with the driver or settings of your graphics card.

It isn’t impossible. I’ve already ruled out the issue being hardware. I’m an engineer working in tech, I know what I’m talking about. We don’t have access to the source code so we can only speculate.

The following might be affecting the Anti-Aliasing for games:

Visual C++ Libraries
DirectX 12 Changes
NVIDIA Drivers
DWM Rendering Changes
Forward Rendering vs Deferred Rendering Changes
etc.

I have 3 computers that have all been reset to default for everything. I’ve swapped out computer parts as well… Motherboard… CPU… GPU… and nothing. Here’s my PC specs:

Desktops:
10900K/1080Ti/32GB RAM/2TB NVME
8700K/1060/16GB RAM/500GB NVME

Laptop (Area 51m R2):
10900K/2080S/32GB RAM/2TB NVME/360Hz GSync

I’ve made a new Microsoft account as well to make sure the settings weren’t being synced either.

Although I’m glad that the issue isn’t hardware related… there’s a software bug of some sort somewhere… where exactly we do not know yet but the fact remains that all of the simulators and reports from other simmers are the same… they all talk about shimmering and jaggies… poor quality AA. Bad TAA quality.

Something is definitely wrong somewhere and it needs to be fixed.

You could not have uploaded even smaller, more compressed images, right?
Please upload the full resolution pictures. Or atleast, as big as possible, uncompressed.

As you have ruled out it is not only happening in this flight sim, i think it is advisable to post this in another forum like the nvidia forum or use the MS feedback hub app

I monitor same issues, visible on the thin lines in higher contrast situations, especially on the cockpit displays, on white lines on dark background…

Though I think it’s the moire effect, which overlays the entire screen. It’s more noticeable at white above dark.

However AA got worse in general I think. Don’t know if it’s my 3080 card or anything else, but something changed around May/June or so. I kinda hope it’s a driver issue rather than hardware

I’ll be closing this topic because you’ve already created a topic regarding this issue here:

You may also want to take a look at the following topic because it might resolve the AA issues you’re experiencing:
