Should you get MSFS on Xbox?

Since we’re talking about Cessnas, out of all the aircraft listed in the hanger (I have 4 favourites), but my most favourite out of all of them is the C152. For me it’s raw flying using nothing but actual gauges. In chase view I don’t even have the “chase HUD” showing. I find it gets in the way of the scenery view looking from behind. As long as I have my compass in the aircraft and the airport markers, I’m good to go :+1:

Just don’t open the window above ~85KIAS the plane done blows up… :astonished:

I like the 152/ but #1 still the steam 172, particularly with the floats, albeit a bit of a challenge to get it up to speed with those canoes on it. I like dead reckoning to the Bahamas or out to loggerhead lighthouse and pulling up on the beaches. Can’t wait for that goose!

Ya I like those zlin ( or is ziln), planes and the 172 as well which is the only other 3 I like. That STOL zlin plane with floats is a nice slow ride. Good for ducking into smaller lakes.

On that note: I’m looking forward to that bush plane SIM called “DeadStick”

Been meaning to get into the shock ultra at some point. A lot of bush trips use the xcub so just haven’t gotten around to that one. Haven’t flown the Savage Cub yet either, working on it.

That’s it the “shock plane” The yellow one is a nice flyer too. I’m at work so not in front of my hanger listing.

Hi, where did you get this pack ?

I found it in the manage game options. If you check the box it downloads . If not it doesn’t. If I’m correct, it automatically downloads when you install MSFS off the Xbox DVD but doesn’t install unless you check the box. It’s 16gigs in size.

Go to Windows Central and search it out in the search box. The article tells you how to find it in your Xbox on screen menus.

I’d walk you through it but I’m not at home right now.

I will look for it because i have installed the msfs box version .

Thank you

Your welcome sir.

Of course I’m only guessing … but I’m thinking the CTD’s are more monitor related. That’s manly the only difference between us owners of the Xbox system. Ok that and the internet connection and server hookups. In my mind there is only three points of difference.

Well I have to agree with the monitor idea. I’m looking into getting a 43” monitor for my Xbox so I can have a separate set up in another part of the room. This way I don’t have to swap the flight controls every time I want to use either SIM.

From the home screens(not in the game), highlight the flight simulator icon, press menu (3 lines button), you will see list open up, click manage game and add ons, in that menu you will see the main game ~45 GB, then below it ‘offline mode’ @ 56GB or so. If it is unchecked you don’t have it installed. You click the box and hit save changes, and it will download it from disk(or online if your copy is digital).

Although personally I dumped offline mode a long time ago for the space. You really wouldn’t ever play it unless you have no internet, and it sucks.

Do you have any ctds with other games or just msfs

It’s doesn’t suck for me…it works no problem…?

To answer directly no I haven’t had any CTD with other games. Since the last update I haven’t had any CTDs. My logbook hasn’t been erased either. Again I’m only guessing but I think it’s either or both a combination of type of monitor and internet connection. I feel that way because it’s a cloud based game. Those are the two things MS Xbox has no control over and it different for most all users.

Well it’s a megabyte world versus online petabytes.

Fair enough. I’ll continue to enjoy  lol

What the…? Last night there was an update 6.66gigs. I started to download it and realized what am I doing, Ooops !, (no details of what this MSFS update was), I decided, “no” I’m not gonna do this, everything is working fine. You don’t need updates ■■■■■■■. Lol So, I canceled it, and cleared the qeue too. Well guess what…? It cleared the qeue alright and cleared MSFS off the Xbox drive completely. My drive was at 0.04% used. Ya, all gone. :rage: I had to reinstall the whole thing again from my Xbox DVD set. I’m back up and running smooth again and all my settings were remembered. I had turned on my data and bing mapping only because I found the scenery and buildings look better turned on. It wasn’t because I wanted any updates, and I don’t care less about them, it was just about the scenery looking realistic. Estheically pleasing as it were. So that was a head scratcher as to why clearing the qeue wipes out your drive too.

Anybody else experience this…?

I think when you buy in the MS store then you can install on both PC and Xbox. So even if you get it on PC you can always later install on Xbox or the other way around.

Yes, this is true. I’ve got one copy installed on two Xboxes and my PC.
