Like anything you always have to reboot, I got it. I guess I’ll have to keep up on it every time I first open the SIM and it says looking for updates. Once its installed I can go in and delete. I’m going to give this a try. I’m going to assume any patches or software updates obviously won’t show in the content manager list correct…?
To be clear, it isn’t rebooting the Xbox, but the sim itself.
Rebooting the Xbox with the sim running just keeps the Quick Resume thing in play, which you don’t want.
Apologies if I’m being Captain Obvious.
Ah, I thought about that for a minute and you confirmed it. K, just reboot the SIM.
The key thread quote pretty much says it all then.
No worries, Obvious away, I’m okay with it.
I hope it helps you.
We really have so few things to actually try with the Xbox.
It massively helped me.
Ya agreed. After my MSFS PC nightmare (what a waste that was $130) and I even bought a new $1500 Legion i7 purposely for the PC version. Not a big loss though because my other 12 year old PC wouldn’t turn on anymore. Only the $130 for the Standard version MSFS for PC was a waste. I use my PC for everything so the purchase was warranted.
BTW how do you slow down your cockpit camera panning…? I haven’t a clue what setting that is…?
I’m unsure. I’ve not changed the speed for it. I mainly use all the preset instrument views, which I’ve got mapped to buttons on my Boeing yoke. I use the left thumb hat to look around, as needed, but haven’t had an issue with the speed.
I use the hat switch button too but, I would like to slow it down so it doesn’t snap left to right like it does. I don’t mean snap like quick snap but you know what I mean.
Oh, that is “Quick View”. You need to remap it to cockpit look up, look up right, look up left, look left, look right, look right down, look left down and look down. Getting the diagonals on the hat can be kind of tricky, but it’s worth doing.
How do I do that…? lol
Controls Options—>Hotas Tab—>Camera—>Cockpit Camera—>Cockpit Look Up (for example)—>click the box—>Click “Start Scanning”—>Press the hat up—>Click validate.
Repeat for the other seven views.
Find the Quickview keybinds and clear them.
So the 3D photogrammetry cities performance bug that we found on PC is also present in Xbox?
Given we have no way to see our FPS, with no dev mode available to us, I can only go by the behavior change I saw on my Xbox Series X after following your findings on the other thread.
It’s possible it is affecting (some) of us here, but I’ve also disabled the rolling cache and I haven’t reinstalled the WUs in total and testing with the cache off.
So, in sort, I’m not 100% sure. Either the WUs uninstalls or the cache turned off or both cured my issue.
If you have tjme. Can you reinstall the WUs and try again? It would be very important if we can confirm that Xbox also suffers from that issue. No need to restart the sim when reinstalling them. Only when uninstalling needs to be restarted.
I can do so. It’s been on my “list” of things to do. I’ve followed your findings very closely.
I’ve just been pretty distracted doing QA on SU8 Beta on my PC…
I’m going to try that Nixon. Thank you.
Okay update on the frame rate issue. Chase cam view is fine as long as I don’t go below 1000 feet, worse closer to the ground. Looking out front in cockpit view is fine at any altitude. Looking left and right on the runway out the side windows Ok as long as your stopped. Closer to the ground flying…no good…everything closer to you outside the windows view is c…p, but far off landscape in distance is ok…?? I have photogrammetry is turned off. I have only Bing Maps, Online, and Real Time Air Traffic turned on. I can’t believe I’m having issues again with the same SIM but on a different platform. Like REALLY Asobo…(sigh) I have spent a lot of $$ on this dam thing hoping maybe…just maybe one day I’ll have a smooth, glitch free flying experience. I just don’t understand anymore…just don’t (sigh)
All of this is so incredibly perplexing, because there are people like you having this issue endlessly and people like me who have cured it.
It makes no sense, we all have the same hardware. I get it if people have a bunch of add-ons that are screwing up, but many are like you with nothing installed.
I appreciate that. If you do find that the issue exists in Xbox can you post in the original thread with your findings? We want to raise as much awareness of the issue as possible.
Exactly nothing installed at all. Not going down that route with MSFS. I have incidentally deleted all the WU’s except the Nordics and the USA too. Better, but as I said above, issue still exists.
I don’t have these issues with the Aero Fly FS2 and all the addons I bought and paid for. That SIM is smooth as butter and such a simplistic user interface that a child could do it. FS4 is coming soon, and its mostly all European based which I don’t mind at all. Its beautiful flying over there.
Oh I got rid of all the landing challenges too and various non US and Nordic airports that installed when I first loaded the SIM. No need for those for me.
I will absolutely do that. I’ll make it happen tomorrow, for sure.
So what else is there for me to do now…? What options do I have left…? I dunno…?
What’s crazy about the whole thing is there are times when I see that, oh… it seems to be working ok, and then suddenly out of nowhere the issue starts all over again. And I might add its all geographically dependent…airports…landscapes…?? I’m getting fed up to the point of just selling the Xbox and Hotas one with the DVD’s and be done with it and use my Aero Fly for now till the new version of that comes out.
