Do you know what the wind speed and direction was? If wind was blowing toward the nose of the aircraft it would cause what you see.

As Hester40MT already pointed out, you most likley had (more or less) head on wind. Due to the angled front window the drops will run upwards, that is correct as shown in the video.

By the way, if you have a plane with a nose prop, the wind created by the prop will cause this also, even more pronounced when prop is at full speed.

TLDR; because physics

No, Wind was 210/16, I was pointing with the wind behind me.

It looks like the sim models surface tension. If so, color me impressed.

Yeah, no. The sim does not model surface tension. It just knows how droplets are supposed to behave and applies a simple algorithm to make it look good.

There is a difference between a physics simulation subroutine keeping track of every water molecule near the aircraft and a simple algorithm to make the visual look the way it should.

Was you in Australia?..
Okay… I’ll get my coat and leave quietly…

Well since Australia is upside down then rain would fall up there.

I wouldn’t expect you to know how many times I’ve been critical of suggestions to make storm clouds more lifelike, with all the complex winds that make flying into them dangerous for real life pilots.

People don’t seem to appreciate how much computing power it takes to accurately model fluid dynamics.

My “surface tension” comment was firmly tongue-in-cheek.
