Show NAV1 data on G1000 nxi

Hello, sorry for my English is a translator.
I wanted to ask you if it is normal that in the G1000 NXI in the “PFD Opt” option it gives me distance data when it is for GPS, but it does not give any data when it is for NAV1 or NAV2. The previous G1000 did show it.

Thank you and regards

Hi JAstor,

Just tried it out in the C172 on ground:
when DME is switched on I get the DME message block at the bottom left side of the display showing frequency and distance for NAV1, but switching to NAV2 , the DME message block does not react.
It still shows the NAV1 data.
Sorry, I can’t tell you anything about Garmin’s NXI behaviour IR.
Yet I think (as you) , this behaviour of the Garmin in the sim is not the real one.
But despite of that, the Garmin 1000 NXI is a big, big fun factor and I appreciate the work of WorkingTitle really very much. My thanks to all of them.
bye, walter

This is selectable by pressing the ADF/DME softkey and rotating the lower right outer knob to highlight NAV1, then rotating the smaller inner knob to switch to NAV2.

Try pressing the PFD Opt softkey, then Bearing 1 softkey once and Bearing 2 softkey twice. You’ll now have NAV1 and NAV2 bearing, distance and three letter identifier shown on the bottom left and right flank of the HSI.

thanks for your answers, but unfortunately I can’t get it in any way, the ILS continues to appear without data

Since you’re headed to a localizer, did you double check that it was a LOC/DME on the world map? Not all localizers have DME capability.
I ran a test on KSTL, rwys 30L (localizer without DME) and 30R (localizer and DME). I (correctly) didn’t get DME on 30L, but did get DME on 30R.

Hello HABU, thanks for your help, the truth is that I have not looked at that, although I fly a lot and it would be a lot of coincidence that I never see it work, but I will look at it, hopefully it will be that.
Greetings and good flight.

It was what you told me HABU, since I didn’t connect it normally anymore thinking that it didn’t work, I didn’t realize that not everyone doesn’t give the information. Thank you

According to the approach plate for KGRI, you are meant to tune to both the Localizer I-GRI on 111.90, as you have done, but you also need to tune to GRI on 112.00 with your other NAV radio.

The information is in the top left of the plate:

See the whole approach plate here:

EDIT: If you look at the plate, you will see that both the Localizer I-GRI and the VOR GRI are in the same physical spot at the airport.
