The sim seems to work ok when I have my Nvidia power settings set to optional power but there is lots of downclocking on the GPU causing stuttering. With my rtx2060super currently overclocked and setting it to prefer maximum performance the sim runs more fluid but after an hour of use shuts down.
I have never experienced this before so this is new.
With optional power the sim can run for hours without issues with the cost of automatic downclocks and stuttering.
Oh well time to get a new PSU.
You sure it’s not overheating due to the higher overclocked speeds? I know I had my PC shuts down to BIOS on launch, when I set my GPU to use the default factory clock speeds. But when I underclock it by 200 Mhz, it runs stable.
Now I’m running on the same default factory clock speeds, and it’s still stable. So I’m sure they did something in the performance to make it more stable.
I don’t know if it’s my PSU. I’m running 850W and it runs well on some games, but not so much on other high-demanding games. I always assume that it’s an overheating problem than a PSU problem.
Like I said the sim is stable on optimal power settings. It has to be a power consumption issue and the PSU is unable to hold the extra load. Temp of the gpu was around 75 during shutdown which is not even the thermal limit of the card.
You maybe right could be due to overheating. Temp reading probably not accurate.
The shutdowns have gotten worse where I literally cannot finish a flight.Good grief! My cpu is in the 70s so that cannot be the issue.I do notice my cpu is getting very hot.
