Fired up FS2020 this morning and the audio cuts out every other second. Rebooted several times but the issue persists. Is this a known bug and can I fix it?

No problems here. How is the audio in your computer when surfing things like YouTube videos? You maybe having problems with your sound card or sound card driver or their connections to your speakers. FWIW
Hi, I had stuttering sound yesterday and again this morning in mSFS 2020 various planes… I cleared the caches and updated the Nvidia Control panel and a restart seems to have resolved the issue for me. Good luck

Theres a whole thread about audio stutters in 2024. Something is definitely off here. Maybe a server issue.
I got that each start from MSFS2020, 1times always at the same spot when loading.
During fly now and again, which comes together with a stutter.
Having the same issue. Audio goes in and out every two seconds. cpu/gpu not overloaded, 80 fps, nothing running in background, community folder empty and no sound enhancements running. Tried with and without rolling cache, same issue. Zero issues running audio on any other app.
Just started having this 2 days ago. It is just my engine and cockpit fan sounds. Environmental sounds are normal.
