ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Sim crashes when i click helicopter in the aircraft menu

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
nothing in community folder except a330 liveries

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Happens every tine i click helis. Haven’t been able fly helicopters in days

I also encountered this problem. There is a chance of crash when scrolling on the aircraft selection menu or switching aircraft tabs.

exactly the same as OP.

1. Open Sim
2. Aircraft selection screen (Helicopter menu)
3. Sim crashes

I can select the Helicopters from the “ALL” menu. Helicopter menu crashes

• when I load the sim and go to free flight, I click on the helicopter tab, and it immediately crashes to desktop. Every time.

• In the main menu, the Robinson R66 is missing. The issue began after a previous flight in the R66. I ended the flight, and the sim crashed during the return to the main menu. Now it is missing, and the sim crashes if I click the helicopter menu.

WORKAROUND: Load into whatever aircraft is displayed when you select “freeflight.” Once loaded into the sim, end the flight, change aircraft and load in again. End that flight. You should be able to select the helicopter tab again.

Thanks…that worked for me as well. Spent over an hour trying different things inbetween loading up the sim.

• I had this CTD in the first days after the MSFS2024 release. After that it worked for some time. But now the issue seems to be back. CTD every time I select the helicopter category.

Same for me on PC. Was working about an hour ago, now it crashes to desktop every time I try and select the Helicopter tab. Sim seems to be having big problems loading in the textures. Everything is blurry for a few seconds then pops in. Not sure if that’s related…?

• I first had this issue over a week ago. Then it was OK for a while, then today it worked and I flew the R66 and now it’s just CTD on me 3 times in a row when selecting heli menu. I can still start a flight in the R66 which remains selected from before. I think the R66 may have been the trigger when this first happened to me a while ago.

• If I try to customise the R66 after a restart without reselecting it the sim gets really confused, I don’t know if this is related to the crash or not.

I used the search box to find the H225, selected that, configured it. After that the heli tab started working again.

The R66 was also the problem for me. I deleted the folder from the Streamed Packages and then restarted the MSFS2024. Now the helicopter menu works again after reloading. see screenshot
