Sim Development Priorities

Honest question…why is it more important that we receive a new Piston powered airplane from 1940 rather than get the drastic wind changes that knock airliners out of the sky fixed? I know that there are different groups that work on different items and some of those items are even sourced out to other groups, but the question is how the team makes the decisions? Why are certain items of paramount importance (new piston plane) that much more important that developer Q&As and user Q&As focus heavily on those with no updates or development of items like those below?

2 years into the sim and having celebrated 40 years of flight sim, we still deal with:

  1. Drastic wind changes that cause autopilots to disengage and tracked flights being ruined after hours of flight time (literally 80 knot tailwinds turning into 100 knot headwinds in 2 seconds before drastically changing back)

  2. No Visual Docking Guidance System (VGDS) for airport scenery creators to actually make airports look like their real life counterparts

  3. No weather radar (ironic in the sense that live weather is a selling point, but actually being able to avoid bad weather while flying is not important)

  4. No interaction between the windshield wipers and rain or other elements (again, honest question, why even have working windshield wipers if they do not do anything?)

  5. Extremely dark airports at night with no way of seeing the stand or where to stop for the maybe connected to the building jet bridge to connect
