Oh just one question…
Especially for those who might have woken to this bug
How do we get to that part when our game is crashing on start up…? Is there a step before that one?
Edit
I fell asleep last night and the last thing that worked was deleting a file in navigraph??
Do we still need to do this to get into msfs
Yes, you can follow the initial workaround to disable the “AIRAC Cycle 2409 rev.1” package within Navigraph Hub. This will allow you to launch MSFS normally. From there, you can delete the Bush Trip - Scotland package as described in the linked post above, exit the sim, re-enable the AIRAC package in Navigraph, then re-launch the sim.
Awesome thanks for that mate I just updated my original post for it to make sence but cheers…
So basically we delete that navigraph file, then delete that bush trip and then exit game and reinstall that navigraph file and it should all work..
Thanks guys for all your hard work while I decided to go to sleep…
This “go to sleep” trick… It’s amazing how many things it fixes…
Hangovers, headaches, a bad days work, a Minor argument with other half…
hell…
Even works for msfs
The ‘beta enrolled’ people without the update got it rolled out this morning, but complete with the bug still there. Would have been better if the bugged update had been held back. At least there is a fix now. Thank you @RookieOneqc top quality debugging.
No flying for me this morning then. CTD after update. I’ve just disabled Navigraph airac so I can boot in again to then disable the Scottish bush trip before quitting reenabling navigraph and rebooting again. These boot ins on average are taking about 8-10 minutes each time.
and, all this for avionics updates to 3 aircraft i don’t fly.
close the sim, re-install the AIRAC update via the Navigraph Hub
start the sim again and you will see, that the sim starts without any CTDs any longer with the Navigraph navdata packages installed
No need to remove the Whole World update - only this bush-trip package is the issue.
Hope that helps
Richard
PS: @RookieOneqc I also can confirm that this solution works but I have two other devices here, where the Bush Trip package is installed with our data too without a CTD any longer - only removing the double SNFO entries - so, I assume it´s a combination of a few issues in this sim-update
If the ‘Bush Trip Scotland’ package has been out for ages, apparently without causing any issues, especially not the majority of users getting CTD, it surely must have been at least something to do with yesterday’s MSFS update.
Unless that bush trip was also updated yesterday and for some reason it was given a mistaken reference to an airport called “SNFO”, it does look like there might be multiple potential causes for this one.
I wonder if a previous CTD might have somehow left a corrupted/incomplete version of one of the files that should be downloaded as part of the update and it is preventing it from being downloaded again?
I checked it. No it wasn’t updated.
Removed it and it works with navigraph installed. Very strange, how a mission (with a flightplan and save file) can have a impact on that.
It’s an odd one for sure, as that bush trip was apparently happily coexisting with the Navigraph data and neither had been changed recently. It appears that the MSFS update somehow triggered both into having an issue and I guess, thankfully, the responsibility will lie with MS/Asobo to figure out why.
I dont see why these updates have to be mandatory, optional would be much better for people like me who dont use those aircraft that were updated.
Hopefully this will be addressed in 24.
But i thought it was suspicious how on update release no patch notes were given only where to report bugs.
Im guessing they knew in advance that there would be issues, in which case it should have been delayed untill the bugs were ironed out.
