Sim freezes after clicking "Fly" button

Hello, I’ve got the following problem:
after filling in all details like airports/weather/kind of plane, there is that yellow button which sayd “FLY”. German version: “losfliegen”.
After clicking this button the programm starts to collect the data for the flight, but it freezes at about 70-80 percent.
Only taskmanager can help to stop the whole program.

Nothing was changed in hardware since August 2020. (no problems until now).
DDR4 32GB all working - Nvidia Geforce RTX2080 Super - Enough free space on HDD.

I repaired (nothing changed) and resetted the software. Nothing changed.
I deleted the whole program.
I installed it clean (took 9 hours)
I cleaned the cloud (start shell:appsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -DeleteCloudSaves). Nothing changed.
Still freezes at the same point.

What must I do to get the program running?

If you are using OpenXR Toolkit, disable it. This will simplify troubleshooting and rule out any OpenXR Toolkit settings.

As you can see I did all the recommendations to solve the problem. Also the solutions by Zendesk.

I have the same problem, especially when live weather is activated before klicking “fly” / before loading the flight - then it freezes almost everytime no matter where I start.

I made a backop from: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
Then I deleted MSFS2020.
I downloaded from Store the intro of MSFS Flight Simulator. Paused it.
Then I put the Folder Packages back in:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
Unpaused the further download and that’s it.
The program started and i could fly (song R.Kelly: I believe I can fly … must be chaaged in „I am sure I can fly“

So you did uninstall the whole MSFS and reinstall it?
What do you mean with “I downloaded the intro”?

I made a backop from: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache and saved it on a USB-stick.
Then I deleted MSFS2020 complete through the software.

After that I started to download MSFS2020, just the intro. Then paused.
Then I put the saved map from the USB-stick: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache on its place.
If done, resume the download you paused before.
The program will soon tell you then, that all was downloaded.
Must work so.

OK, thank you for describing the steps.
I have the problem especially with one new aircraft (in 80% of my attempts, in 20% this aircraft works) and sometimes for several days after installing a new marketplace scenery. The other stuff works. As long as MSFS does not fail completely I don’t dare to to do a complete reinstall because of the tremendous work to do it…
Allthough a very interesting advice…

Copying the specific map ist most of the work. It takes a big USB or place on another partition. The other handlings are easy done. Believe me: this map is the heart of MSFS2020

I own the DVD versionand (premium deluxe) and I’m not sure, if I can download MSFS without using the DVDs after uninstall - the DVDs contain the very oldest MSFS-release and therefore I think it would be better to use the newest online version for reinstall?

You just have to install the intro. So I would try that.
Then you pause.
Then you bring back the saved map on its place.

This issue at least on my PC seems to be solved using SU15.
