Also happening to me, just suddenly started happening a few days ago but interestingly in MSFS2024.

Yes also started happening to me to in 2024. Issue started a few days ago and happens every time now. Sim won’t quit until I kill it in Task Manager

Mine is also installed from the windows store (Xbox store), and as told full win11 and FS2020 blank install doesn’t work.

Just throwing this into the pool here. Has everyone with this problem also got an exe.xml file that is in the root folder of the installation directory? I’m not 100% sure but I think the problem of it never actually closing is since whatever application I installed that creates that file was done.

Found the cause of my issue at least. It was another running program. Just started testing it a few days ago. Learned that if I don’t close it before quitting FS24 the program will not shut down properly. If I quit the other program first, MSFS shuts down normally.

What is the other program? In my exe I have Active Sky, Driver for my Logitech Panels and SimHaptic.
