Sim only recognizing one peripheral at a time

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

I have Honeycomb Alpha, Bravo, and TPR rudder pedals. Only one device is recognized by the sim at a time. If I disconnect the peripherals to force them to reconnect, whichever of the three devices I plug in last is the only one that works or shows up in the controls menu.

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta?

No

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

None installed

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every flight since installing Beta 3

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Start sim. Function check flight controls during preflight.
  2. Realize only one peripheral (yoke, throttle, or pedals) is working. Unplug an inactive device and plug it back in (windows “ding-dong” sounds). Inactive device becomes active and disables other 2 devices.
  3. Cuss, moan, head to the forums to complain about it.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

Same Issue here. After an hour-long flight, my joystick suddenly stopped working. It only started again after I unplugged and replugged it. However, the rudder pedals were then gone. I could no longer activate both. Only a restart helped.

This has also been happening to me. Initially I could’ve have more than 2 plugged in, as if I did it would just automatically remove the oldest one. Eventually towards the end of the flight I could have only one active, as everytime I tried to plug a new one in it would remove the other one.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

When peripherals are pluged in when the sim is running, only the last one pluged in is recognized, and the others are removed, if they were present before. It only shows all peripherals when they are already pluged in BEFORE the sim is started and no additional device gets plugged in while the sim is running.

Getting exactly the same issue.

One flight was fine, the other 3 issues. I am currently not showing any of my peripherals.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• At first launch yes, after unplugging and plugging back in with a Sim restart all has been fine.

same situation. I just return to SU2 but I download all streamed contents in SU3B. The downloaded are in SU2. haha

Same issue here… How absolutely infuriating this game is.

I have had the same issue on 3 separate flights after updating to SU3 beta. My hardware gets disconnected in the middle of a flight, and unplugging them and plugging them in again would cause the sim to recognizing my joystick OR throttle, but not both. I verified that Windows still recognized both peripherals.

Yeah, I’m out. I’ve thoroughly tested every Beta release since MSFS2020 dropped. I’m tired. I need a break from this. Back to SU2 for me.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
After installing SU3 beta, MSFS2024 no longer recognises my Alpha / Bravo and Velocity One Rudders.

When I start MSFS2024, in the main menu all controllers are recognised. But once I start either Free Flight or a mission in Career Mode, the controllers are no longer recognised.

I disconnected all controllers, and then connected the first one. MSFS2024 recognises the device. But when I add the second of my controllers, rather than adding it as a new controller in addition to the one I just connected earlier, it replaces the first one I connected.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

All the time.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

See also attached screenshots.
Screen1: initial setup with only Rudders attached (note I seem two have two rudders attached??)
Screen 2: I added my Alpha controller. Note the Rudders have disappeared from the device list
Screen 3: I added my Brave controller. Note that the Alpha controller is gone, but the still shows the configuration for the alpha controller.
When I now click on Keyboard settings, and then back to Bravo Quadrant, I get CTD.

I have a Xbox Series X and use the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight with Rudders and the brakes are still not recognized when mapped to the rudder pedals.

Troubleshooting steps that have failed to resolve issues:

  • Using the Flight Mangement Display to disable rudders prior to opening sim and then enabling rudders to have the brakes mapped
  • unplugging VelocityOne from USB port, both turning off console or restarting, then plugging the usb back in after loading sim
  • Removing all presets so that it is on defaults and reconfiguring the mapped buttons

From what i have hard through discord messages with other users is this is happening both to PC and Console users, and Turtle Beach support has sent details to their dev team to have a look into a possible firmware update and also advised that Microsoft/Asobo will need to resolve the mappping.

Same here with Alpha, Bravo and also Saitek Pro Flight Rudders.

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with MSFS 2024 (SU3) where it doesn’t recognize my peripherals correctly. Sometimes after starting a flight, only one device shows up in the menu at first, and the others only reappear if I unplug and plug them back in. Even then, it’s inconsistent – sometimes a device shows up, sometimes it doesn’t.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any known fixes or workarounds?

Thanks in advance!

After an hour-long flight, my joystick suddenly stopped working. It only started again after I unplugged and replugged it. However, the rudder pedals were then gone. I could no longer activate both. Only a restart helped.

I have this issue. Please fix asap as can’t really test without controls.

On the first run SU3 beta my Moza AB9 got disconnected from the sim. Replug helped

I went from SU2 Beta to SU2 to SU3 Beta and had the missing controllers issue. I swapped back to SU2 and they came back. So, then changed back to the SU3 Beta, they are now back in the SU3 Beta as well.

Phew.
