UPDATE
SSW just stated that they are readying a model behaviour fix for our beloved Gina as well as adding visuals.
Let’s hope this will be the case indeed and this thread will have a reason to close
Hello, i have a CTD . did you find a solution?
The Fiat g91 has many bugs, the first one is the gauge of artificial horizon, if you do a left bank the bank indicator should indicate on the left the degrees of bank, instead indicates on the right and viceversa, I’m a real pilot and all airplanes works like that, and it’s confusing.
Second the landing gear doesn’t move if you click with the mouse the stick but only if you click on the panel behind it, and normally in fs2020 you can move the landing gear just using the mouse wheel.
Then the maneuverability in rolling is weird, it moves accellerating in rolling that makes it unstable, in pitch is so terrible to maintain, and the engine works bad like you have a propeller.
Another thing is that if you move the flap you won’t see it on the cockpit, so you cannot understand the position of the flap.
I tried the Aermacci and the F16, and they’re working fine and very smoothly.
I think the best right now is the Aermacchi in terms of maneuverability and clean graphics.
Anyway there’s a way to fix those problems?
We really need a recall on these tires, quite an unfortunate defect
Will try the edit mentioned above, came here looking to see if I was alone.
Hello everyone,
a few days ago I bought from the internal market of the simulator the wonderful G91. I must say that it is extraordinary.
But I noticed that the version that the simulator indicates installed is 0.1.4 while the current one, if I’m not mistaken, is 2.1.0.
In fact I can not use the collimator (which is completely absent) nor to add external loads through the executable G91.exe (except for the additional tanks)
How can I update my “Gina”, without having to repurchase it on another market place, like Orbx, where I noticed that the version is the most recent?
Thanks in advance for the help
The current version is 2.3.0
Thanks for the info, I didn’t know that…has anyone had the same problem as me? And how did you solve it?
Thanks again.
The in-game Market Place does not sell aircraft which can be loaded with weaponry. So there are two versions of the Gina, as for any other MSFS military aircraft, the one sold on the MP and the one sold everywhere else to which you can add weapons.
Ok thanks for the information. I will purchase military aircraft from external market next time.
It unfortunately won’t. This is what their site says
Due to serious organizational and personal reasons we regret to inform you that the SIM SKUNK WORKS development activity is suspended “sine die”.
We cannot yet establish a date on which activity will be resumed.
We will continue support, albeit in a limited form, to our users for products already distributed for MSFS 2020
Wow, that is a shame. I really like the G91
I like the developer too.
I have the G91 and the 104G and they’re among the best aircraft I’ve bought.
Knowing that these planes might never get the updates they deserve will certainly put me off from buying from anyone except the really big players.
hello,
we will issue a updated version of “Gina” with corrected contact points and a smoother controls handling plus a new animated pilot.
Ir will be a bit late, be patient.
/SSW
Which is a bit contradictory with what the site says…
They mentioned in the TF-104 thread that new development is halted, not support for existing products.
Hi !
How do you do for engine shut down ?
Thanks
Geez! Only now did I understand how navigation in the G.91 actually works! (It‘s been a while since I checked the available documentation, and either simply did not understand the PHI concept at all, I missed that part - or I was perhaps simply ignoring it at the time, eager to take off :)).
First off, PHI stands for position homing indicator. You may have already noticed those five „station selection buttons“ (PHI stations) on the right-hand side of the cockpit. So far I always thought that those were related to communication with some selected „communication stations“ (like tower, forward controller, ground control and what not).
But it turns out that those „PHI stations“ refer to waypoints! Up to five (and not more), to be specific.
The trick is: it is not possible (if I understand correctly) to set them up within MSFS itself (e.g. on the world map, as one would usually expect). One has to edit a „*.LN3“ text file (or have it generated by some tool which may exist - but it is really a very simple and self-explaining text format), which is located somewhere in the „data“ subfolder of the G.91 installation folder.
After this file has been edited the G.91 will pick it up when launching a new flight (so changing it „on the fly“ is not possible - one has to restart the flight, or so I understand.
Once the flight has been started the waypoints 1 trough 5 can be selected and the PHI instrument in the front panel will start pointing towards the selected „station“.
This is an excellent tutorial, part 1 explains the text file setup:
Part 2 explains how to use the PHI system itself:
Thank goodness for this coming Up date. Our arms were getting tired pumping that front Tyre up !
ps. We hope that whatever is causing the hiatus at SSW is sorted soon. Kind Regards.
I haven‘t tried it just yet, but the „setup“ executable (also in the data subfolder) has a file chooser which lets the user select a navigation text file.
So this might very well update the PHI stations in the G.91 „on the fly“ (pun intended).
You can load new PHI files whilst airborne via the setup program (in the F104 you changed cassettes, not sure about the G91).
You can use the vACMIPartner program to generate LN3 files but it’s a little cumbersome.
The best way I found is to use LittleNavMap to make a flightplan, export it in Xplane format and copy the waypoints into a google spreadsheet (link below) which converts to LN3 format.
Included in the sheet are a couple of my favourites
Mach Loop and back to Raf Valley
Star Wars Valley, Loch Ness, Tain Weapons range and recover to Lossiemouth
