Sim stops streaming scenery

I’ve got a new problem, which appears to have started yesterday. Just wondering if anybody else has seen anything similar.

For some reason the sim decides to stop streaming scenery data after about 30 minutes. By the time I reach my destination the game looks like FS5. I don’t have any connectivity issues my end, I have also tried disabling caching to see if it makes any difference, but it doesn’t.

It’s frustrating because the save/load mechanic appears to be completely broken so I can’t save, quit and reload.

Pause it and hover over your username in the top right. Check the drop down box to see if it says you’re online or not. If not, change from offline to online.
This has happened to me a few times before and I’ve no idea why. My internet connection has always stayed solid.

Thanks for the reply. I did check my online status, and it did say I was online and connected etc. It’s a bit baffling, because this is the first time it’s happened to me. I’m about to start another flight, so will double check that again though when it happens. And for some reason if I try to save, quit and reload, autopilot functionality is broken upon reload, which means I have to keep restarting my flights. Bit of a pain.

Had the same issue yesterday. For about 20 mins thr SIM went in Offline Mode, even with Bing Data enabled. After the 20 mins it went back to online.

Maybe the problem are just temporary server issues. Give it some more tries.

Greetings

Had the same yesterday. Went into pause, general, data and streaming was set to off all of a sudden. Just needed to switch it back to on.
Now i always check before

The biggest concern i have had about this new sim, is the fact that scenery data gets streamed down from the servers… There are so many circumstances that can affect this "streaming " service, at the server level, or at the players end, or anywhere between…

Now I’ve seen first hand the state off the offline scenery, I agree. I don’t think I’m exaggerating much when I say it looks similar to FS5

On a side note, now that it’s day time in the US the scenery streaming seems to have resolved itself, for now. I will update again if it changes, but maybe it was a bug with night time texture streaming? I don’t know, but it’s the first time I’ve encountered this problem.

It’s a pity imagery don’t get cached, would also help with the load on the servers.

Btw, has anyone noticed the terrain colour difference between online and offline? Online looks more greenish.

It happened again, so my initial theory of it only happening at night has gone out the window. I have found a work around so I don’t have to quit my flight though.

When the scenery stops streaming, turn off all online services. Resume the flight, and then go back in and turn all online services back on. This seems to get it to resume streaming, not sure for how long yet though. Will update further.

Hi,
In one of the flights I started, I got an error message (I can’t remember what was written there, but since then I don’t get scenery from Bing… Looks like an autogenerated scenery… What’s up with that?
All the settings related to scenery streaming are turned on.
